The man who single-handedly ended our year every 6 seasons

Re: The man who single-handedly ended our yr ever 6 seasons

Reggie White and Desmond Howard were definately the MVP's in 96. Until White started abusing Lane, we were picking that defense apart.

I don't really put the '02/'08 seasons on Favre either. In '02 the entire Packer team quit. In '08 Favre was 1-1 against both us and the Fins. He wasn't the deciding factor it was the damn Chargers who played the game of their lives against us and then went back into their nutless shell against Miami.

If it wasn't for the ever loving ballwashing of Brett farve from the likes of Madden and Peter King, Brett Farve wouldn't be held to such a level he is now.

Purely based on performance, he hasn't been that good for some time... Sure he was a 3 time NFL MVP in an era where there simply wasn't a lot of good QBs in the league...

It was an era where the Marino's, Elways, Kelly's were on their last years, and the Manning's, Brady's, McNabbs, etc... weren't ready ( to play ) or to take a their skill to the next level.

Farve, like Bettis, will recieve so much aclaim for their efforts by simply outlasting others in a long career, and therefore get records.

Bettis is no where close to a HFA runningback, however because he lasted for so long, his numbers add up and they look worthy... Same with Farve, yes he has lots of yards, and completions and TD's, but he rarely has a top 5 QB season...

If it wasn't for the Media, the people would consider Brett to a solid QB, but not what he is today.

Simply put, he is not that good, and in his 1 super bowl championship, the Kick returner won the MVP... Brett was hardly a factor in that game, the 1 Super Bowl win goes to Desmond Howard, and Reggie White.

Brett Favre eliminated the Pats by A) winning the 2nd matchup of the Jets vs Pats and B) throwing away the game vs Miami late in the 4th by throwing the gift pick. Yeah he's been a curse on the Pats franchise for a while now. Hope he retires FOR REAL soon. He screws us when he does well and he screws us when he goofs up. LOL.

96: ..But seriously, the fish didn't beat the jets, favre beat the jets, and in the process of doing so officially ended our season.

What makes this so hard to swallow is the fact that the playoffs were so wide open this year, especially if Big Ben is out in the divisional round.

What makes it easier to take is the knowledge that we knew with certainty, in advance, that Favre would absolutely rig the outcome once he had knowledge (silent partner Goodell) that the Jets were out of it.

I blame the friggin Jaguars too for mailing that one in. You knew once they started getting blown out that the Jets and Favre would begin the suckfest.

Note to Brett make sure that you have nothing to do with the Pats six years from now PLEASE!
Maybe BB will hire him as offensive coordinator, then BF decides to replace the aging Brady with an untested second year undrafted QB...

Yikes.
