They're entertainers. It's entertainment. They perform. We watch. Now, they're looking out for what they perceive will further their own best economic interests over a career that averages 3.7 seasons for the typical player.
If we don't like what they're doing, we can choose not to watch them anymore or as intently. It's not life and death. If it is, then something is out of perspective.
