That's as good an explanation as any. I guess I'm so used to BB making "good" or "great" decisions that admitting he made a really "bad" decision in this case is tough (especially since this WAS the SB and not Game Two of the Regular Season), but you might just be right.

It may have showed BB's impatience during the SB too. If we kick and make it, we're up 10-3, but it is still a one-score game. Perhaps Belichick was just tempted to get a cushion at that point b/c the Pats offense showed little momentum before that and the Giants' offense had shown flashes of momentum (despite only 3 points).
