I never waste my time reading him anymore. He was useful once. Now he sucks.
Now, Bill can talk about him.
Oh I'm not disagreeing with you, at all. I will say this, however: weed is more of a nuisance vs motor skills than it is vs re-cognitive thinking, such as studying for an exam or, in my case back in the day for example, troubleshooting gear, just so long as one is not attempting to learn something for the first time, such as a New England Patriots playbook. Nowadays if I get baked before I post, I find that I've made more typing errors than I would if I didn't get baked, but otherwise my thought processes are the same as far as my ability, such as it may be, to form them in a manner I want to translate to keyboard is concerned...if that makes any sense.By all means, not all potheads are the same, some are really motivated and focused but in general, potheads are the most apathetic group of people I've met or been part of . Explains why Josh's career has gone the way it has.
I'm was pretty "meh" about this situation. There's A LOT of cons when it comes to this. Can he stay clean (obviously the biggest question), is he the Gordon of 2013 ? He's pretty much in the same situation as Michael Vick a couple of years ago, after his incarceration. After missing years of football, are the skills still there ? I'm not sure they are.
As far as the addiction issue. I feel for the guy. There’s a short documentary about Gordon on YouTube, about his time in rehab. I suggest you guys watch it. As an average sports fan, I can’t tell you how many times I ripped Gordon for being a dumb shmuck for getting suspended. I thought, get off the freaking weed.
But it’s a lot deeper than that. This is a guy who’s addicted to several different types of drugs and alcohol. He’s not a recreational drug user. It’s habitual. While watching it, I can see he’s a smart person
, really self analytical, who realizes he’s got major problems he couldn’t solve on his own, and he seeked out help. He knows this is his last chance, meaning the 2018 season. I’m rooting for the guy, he’s got demons (as we all do to a certain degree), and I hope he defeats them, even if it’s just for his own health. Not just a football issue.
Kind of reminded me of WR Brandon Marshall. I thought he was just a jerk. But he realized he had mental health issues, seeked out help, got diagnosed, and now he’s doing so much better. And like Gordon, very intelligent guy who realized there were issues. Takes a lot to look yourself in the mirror and admit the problems to yourself. I like Marshall a lot now. Sometimes you have to dive deeper into what’s going on instead of just thinking, what a jerk or what a dummy.
"Captain Stone" takes on a whole new meaning now.Oh I'm not disagreeing with you, at all. I think that those who point out "it's not 2013 anymore" and that's he's 27 have a point, but at the same time, the fact that he's barely played also kind of reduces his "NFL age" in a sense. A guy who was an elite athletic talent lighting up the league at 22 years old, who goes on to play very little the following 5 years - not due to any injury at all - should theoretically still be extremely fresh. He's not 22 anymore, but he's not 27 in "NFL years" either, necessarily. Does that make sense? I feel like I'm talking about a dog...I’ve been watching Gordon play in limited games since 2013...his legs are still there. His speed and reflexes are still there. 27 years old. He’s still got it. Watch out nfl
This is no redux of Holt, Galloway, Decker, Ocho, Wayne all men who came to the patriots in their 30s and had lost the speed and reflexes in their legs.
Yup. He'll say " That was yesterday, I'm only talking about today"Tomorrow BB: Well this has been in the works for a few days and we've covered that. We're just going to treat him like anyone else and see how he can help us.

uh...noOk... Passed physical... go JG...!
(Olivia Newton John)
... " Let's get physical"
I wanna get physical....!!!
He also said that Doug Peterson was the worst coach in football, and that was just last season. Like you said, take his opinion with a grain of salt, but it is cool to hear some of his old stories.I'll listen to the ringer nfl show podcast "GM Street" since Lombardi is entertaining. I don't take what he says too seriously but I love how he disses Jason Garrett constantly. Doesn't even use his name anymore. Just calls him the clapper lol! And sometimes he'll have nice history tidbits of his time with Bill Walsh or Belchick. As for everything else he says, take it with a grain of salt.
Pineapple Express from 2008. I'm not a guy who's into pot or drugs of any kind (haven't even smoked a cigarette, honestly), but Seth Rogen, James Franco and Danny McBride really crack me up in that one. I've seen it countless times. Now you have me curious Ross, what movie?
Yeah, I mean obviously it's not a GOOD thing to be basically out of the league for 5 years, but the physical preservation is sort of a "silver lining" I guess.Nope. I’ve thought the same. He had a lot less mileage than some may not realize. Thats a pretty big thing.
Yeah, maybe. It's hard to really quantify.Just average him out to 24 1/2 and call it a day
It's kinda felt like he's started becoming a bit of a contrarian/sensationalist lately in an effort to make himself relevant. That's just how it's appeared to me. A few years ago he seemed like a really good resource but not anymore. He also said that Doug Peterson was the worst coach in football, and that was just last season. That happens when one of them gets Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant confused, and all of them are idiots who don't actually have any clue what they're talking about so when they continue parroting each others' takes, no one realizes they're all making completely obvious errors.Did you miss it when they were discussing Antonio Brown. Felger started by calling him Bryant. The next 3 of them all did the same thing. All of them. How dumb do you have to be to do that. Seriously.
