I agree, although I’d gladly take kicking a codeine habit versus any other opiate. I’ve seen some of those large pharmaceutical grade bottles though, so I suppose that it’s like anything else, meaning if you take enough of it you’ll be hooked.

    From Danny Heifetz on theringer.com:

The trade comes less than a month after Gordon, who missed the first three weeks of training camp attending to his mental and physical health, returned to the Browns. Gordon, who has struggled with alcohol, Xanax, cocaine, marijuana, and codeine abuse in the past, was suspended from the league for multiple violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy for more than 34 months between 2014 and his return in 2017.

As for my claim that weed can be a gateway drug: Is marijuana a gateway drug?

Doesn't mean that all, or even most people, who use it will graduate to hard drugs. But it does make some more susceptible to doing so. This guy is a junkie. An OD is definitely on the table. How likely that is, I have no idea. But it is far more likely in his case than for most NFL players.

A lot of us have been wondering if he can still play. Not sure if this has been posted in 62 pages and counting but his highlight reel from 2017 is indeed impressive. And as Deus pointed out earlier today he was on pace to break 1,000 yards after 5 games last year with a bad QB throwing to him.

    I love this post.

My stepfather was an addict. Greatest person you'd ever meet, but couldn't kick it. Ended up dying of liver failure pretty young. I'm glad to hear you've come that far, and it makes me extremely frustrated to see the Patriots fans that are acting like Gordon is a moral monster or appear to be actively rooting against him. Hell, I was rooting for him when he was with the Browns. Now? I hope he'll end up with a bust in Canton.

Nah I’m just messing around because he’s wearing 10 in that image lol. Gaffney was low key one of the better receivers we had.

I tip my hat to you. Been around a lot of people whom have suffered. You made it because you are one strong SOB.
It pains me in my occupation to see kids suffer. Josh I believe is one of them. Maybe he is at that stage where it is not constant but lingering. Being around a stable environment and the threat that could be his last chance to stabilize his life mentally and monetarily empowers him like it did yourself. Stay strong my friend

On the scale of gateway drugs, Alcohol is an 8 and THC is maybe a 3 or 4. Focus on the booze.

THC is a gateway to good music, a bag of Funyuns and a pint of Ben and Jerry’s.

As for ODing on THC, good luck. The LD50 value for it is something like a gram per kg of body weight.

So a 225 lb guy (102kg) would have to consume 102g of pure THC. That’s 3.6oz (not weed oz, pure THC oz).

Now the pharmas? Ya he could OD. But so could any other guy in the NFL popping pain meds. It’s why big pharma hates THC and CBD so much. Mother Nature beat em.

EDIT TO ADD - My point here isn’t to ignore his illness. He has a sick demon in him and needs all the support he can get to keep it at bay. I wish him nothing but success in that endeavor, regardless of what happens on the field.

My point is more with the 1950s Reefer Madness you seem to be peddling
