Matt Ryan Salary Cap Cost to Falcons 2016: $23,750,000

Matt Ryan

Tom Brady Salary Cap Cost to Patriots 2016: $13,764,000

Tom Brady

OK, to all those folks out "Hawtaykiz" who say "It is about who is most valuable to the TEAM"......

Somebody can now pick up the mic..........

I've had enough of all the Chris Carters/Max Kellerman's etc. claiming how the Pats went 3-1 without him, so that is reason why he isn't the straw that stirs the drink in Belichick's "system".

Well, which long-term QB even HALF his production frees up as much salary cap space to use on other players as Brady???

Isn't he therefore largely responsible for that "system" being what it is today?

Sorry, folks, if field play is a close contest between Brady and Ryan, the salary cap differential and it's importance to the team turns the Most Valuable contest into a rout for Brady.

There has been a lot of talk about the league MVP for this year. In all honesty its not really an MVP vote. The quarterback with the best season stats almost always wins it. It should just be named the BQBYS trophy (best quarterback yearly stats). Ryan's overall stats are better than Brady's. He'll win.

The real question is will anyone around here care when he's hoisting another Lombardi? He won it unanimously in 2010 and lost in the divisional round. He won it in 2007 and lost the trophy on a once in two lifetimes play. We just want the ring.

In fact, I'm watching NFL Network as we speak and the clown just said Ryan would me knocking on the HOF door if he beats Brady in the SB. That must mean Brady would be knocking down the front structure of the building if he wins his 5th. Then Goodell would have the integrity of something else to worry about. *drops megaphone*

You could argue this makes Ryan more valuable, since in theory they can't afford as much talent around him.

Salary is not an MVP criteria.
