The Defense is a bit thin since we have Seymour on the PUP list, Harrison on the suspended list, and Samuel on a special exemption.

I would think that James and Baker are the substitutes for Samuel and Harrison on the roster, until they are activated. Perhaps one of the two will stick, perhaps not.

In any case, we have TWO roster spots available. I would think that one should go for a backup defensive lineman.

Anyone could take the last spot.

The DL is the deepest part of the roster (well maybe WR is deeper). No need for a DLman til Sey gets back IMO

S is a concern especially if Wilson has a sore leg.

I would suspect Samuel will be active for the Jets game, he just might have a limited role. But I would think you would at least want him there for depth.

That second spot is ephemeral. It vanishes as soon as Samuel is activated
... in any event, no later than next Sunday night.
It is no place to put a real player.

As you note, a benchwarmer DB will depart after week 4, when Harrison returns.
Thus, ONE roster spot effectively remains open.

The position numbers indicate that it almost has to be a front seven defender.
If he is a DL, would he (or another DL) be expected to bid adieu when Richard returns?
That is why i think a LB is much more likely.
