PFT just told us that the Pats waived Danny Etling.
Feel free to post your condolences..
makes sense... there was no room for him here either as a QB or WR
Was rooting for the dude. Always a fan of a hard worker. Hopefully its to let him catch on else where and give him a better shot of making a team.
Etling gun is gone
Stud arm lives on
There’s always the practice squad if he clears waivers.
He caused one of Stidham's picks in practice this week, bounced off his hands
Oh well. I applaud his effort.
The timing of the release certainly makes a practice squad role less likely.
There has been a lot written about what an efficient practice squad player he has been. He can model a QB, WR, and other positions.
However he will miss three weeks of practice and three preseason games.
Sorry it didn't work out Danny, but in my mind it was all over when they tried you at a different position, and then you dropped the one throw to you in the 1st pre-season game. Good luck to you and I hope you catch on somewhere else.
seemed like a great guy and a guy willing to do anything to get on the field I hope nothing but the best for him.
Coach Etling? Maybe not for the Patriots, but somewhere. Belichick clearly respected him, but he lacks the talent for the NFL.
Ship Etling to Colts??
Irsay’s comments on Luck
I think that If we had any pretensions of keeping him in the PS, they wouldn't have released him now.
Lol to do what? Sweep floors?
But but but but!!! There was a one moment where he was Cat like quick and ran for 86 yards...
Yes, it's tough at the top. Came across as a good kid, he may still have a role in the game but even if this is a disappointment for him , he will always have memories of playing for a great team , coach and TB12......
I am genuinely sad
