We have Left Guard over to RT assuming health.
Who is our good run blocking LG? I agree from Center to RT, but LG is not good. In 2023 strange and Sow did well in run blocking, but Sow was very rough last year (maybe it was coaching) and strange missed most of 2024. so he is a crap shoot as is Sow and Robinson.

Strange, Sow or both.

Jeanty plays a position that has become devalued on draft day, but his unique talent and the resurgence of the run game in the NFL should force teams to reconsider that factor when weighing his value. He’s the ultimate yardage creator, with the talent and skill set to succeed independent of the quality of his blocking. Jeanty’s speed forces linebackers to flow hard outside, creating cutback lanes and chunk runs, while his vision, balance and elusiveness get it done along the interior. The threat of what he can do on the ground should create ideal play-action opportunities for his team, allowing his next play-caller to, say, unburden a young quarterback or any other passer being asked to shoulder too much of the offense. He’s compact and muscular, but there could be some minor concern surrounding his massive workload in 2024. This top-flight running back is capable of becoming the face of an offense in a league where the pendulum might be swinging back to the running game. Jeanty has future All-Pro talent.

Rich Eisen tried to make a case for Jeanty earlier this week.

Well if we have to “stick & pick”, we’d best not get “stuck & f***ed”! At this point with our revamped “D”, the expectation is we’ll be losing a bunch of 10-3 games. Maybe with Jeanty we’ll turn some of those losses into 13-10 wins! I could care less if we don’t get “value” for picking a RB this high. What should we do - continue saving our gazillion $’s of cap space for a “rainy day” when we’re still getting drenched or *gulp* take the shot and give Maye a weapon that actually fires. Then of course draft the biggest/meanest offensive lineman available in Round 2 or trade back up into the first round and get one….

They did a great job in free agency, and they will still have almost 60 million they can use for the next free agency, which is much better than going into it with no thing to spend and needs to address.

More like 30 after the draft and typical mid year acquisitions, but your point is taken.

There's an idea. Play two LG's. Can we make the case that neither is fully capable and thus we should be allowed a 12th man?

Ashton Jeanty=Walter Payton

But it’s a shame our OL is such a mess. I wish I knew what happened to Sidy Sow last season. I had thought he could be good.

I would have thrown up on this idea earlier but am warming to it. Get OL's in later rounds, go for volume, and get one or two more through post draft trades and pickups. Put the best 5 out there and have some lightening to unleash. May not be the smartest approach, but it makes me grin.

Not giving up on Sow. Had solid college tape and production. Showed really well at the combine and had a stellar rookie season.
What happened? I don’t believe in sophomore jinxes. 100% agree Dante would of helped unlock him. Have high hopes Marrone will too.

Picking a flawed LT at 4 when there is a much higher ranked offensive weapons available is crazy. Pats don’t have the luxury of picking for positional need at 4. They need top talent at any position period.

Taking Campbell at 4 is a mistake. There are LTs just as good who will be there in round 2

I like Jeanty but it is stupidity to draft the RB before you have an OL to set him up for success.
Campbell is not that guy. If Joe Alt were available, yes I would take him. There is no Joe Alt in this years draft

Can get an equivalent LT at 38

I don’t want Campbell either. Ideally there is a stud WR or OT available to us but without that the answer is EDGE.

Carter or Walker. Two guys I feel pretty good about having All-Pro potential.

Cole Strange earned a starting job as a rookie and played the third most offensive snaps on the team. He contributed to one of the best lines in the league and played great the second half of his rookie season. He's also athletic and really strong.

Sidy Sow earned a starting position as a rookie, he is big and talented. Last year he missed the first month of the season due to injury, and when he came back we were punished by having to watch all three of Elliot Wolf’s free agents and two rookie linemen stink up the joint.

Not coincidentally the last time this team had a functional offense and very good offensive line was when Josh McDaniels was here… so there’s hope. Two answers for one starting left guard position is having the position filled assuming health.

I'm not hearing the ceiling is too high for Campbell or other potential T's at 4. This team badly needs talent and can't afford to take a meh player at #4.

I actually took the rookie signings off beforehand, and if they can find 30 million worth of good players to sign in season I’ll be happy about it, I just can’t think of an in season signing the past couple of years that was wortha damn.
