I know this should be obvious--but the Patriots have beaten all bird-named teams in three of their five wins in the Big Dance. Eagles, Seahawks, Falcons. Yeah, it took a bit o' time to sink in.

Without further ado, I present Peter Griffin's thoughts on the subject:

Next up, all 4 legged animals.. Rams, Panthers - check

I want the Bears. Would be appropriate.

Or maybe go after the 2 leggers .. Giants, cowboys, Packers..

They made it once and if not for Harrison's 100 yd int return before the half and a spectacular catch, they might own a Lombardi trophy....
The Jets were once in a superbowl too, but they won't be again either.

Rams were bird-brained (Marshall Flock)

Panthers? Don't fly Mister Blue Bird I'm just walkin' down the road

Early morning sunshine, tells me all I need to know

Good ole Sunday morning bells are ringing everywhere

Goin' to Carolina, won't be long 'till I'll be there

Wait, there's one more bird in the NFC, Arizona Cardinals......
Really a stupid name when you think about it.... At least as the other birds are raptors, Cardinals are seed eating pretty boys....

The Patriots have also only won Super Bowls against animals: Rams, Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks, and Falcons. We lost to the non-animal Packers and Giants and the animal Bears.

In the NFC, the teams without animal names are the Packers, Vikings, Saints, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, and 49ers. That means 8/16 teams don't have animal team names. At 50/50 odds of playing an animal (this is absurd, but go with it), the odds of winning against only animals in our five Super Bowl wins is 1 in 16. On the other hand, we've lost three of our four Super Bowls against non-animals.

At 5-1 against animals and 0-3 against non-animals. I'd say the Patriots play better against animals.
