The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

This is off-topic but I need to get it off my chest.

I have seen the Cassel year mentioned. I don't think it is as impressive as many let on. They beat the bad teams. Never defeated a team that ended up in the postseason. That was an embarassing schedule in terms of easiness. They still had a good roster coming off a 16-0 regular season.

In retrospect, that season is not that impressive. Maybe it's just me.

As Big Bill says, you are what your record says you are. BB got 10 wins from Matt and that's a very good record for what Matt Cassel was as an NFL QB, a JAG. S Yeah, 2008 was impressive.

What isn't impressive is his sting at Cleveland, his stint an NE without TB12, and his stint at UNC. Those stints are all embarassing and no amount of spin can change that.

All true. Also blown out 3 times in 4 games (and twice at home) against the AFC playoff field that season. Being totally unprepared for the wildcat game was all on Bill.

I’ll give credit where it’s due though. Felt like that team was playing their best football of the season in December. That hasn’t been the case around here in recent years.

This thread is stupid.
I don't care if you're a BB ball- kicker or ball- licker- for Chrissake, people move on!
I just ignore him. I live in NC and have not watched one minute of UNC football.
Why would I? It's bad football.

Looks like Bill's inspiration in dating college girls is his new OC.

The head coach is 4-8 all time in the college ranks.

The OC is 119-63 all time in the college ranks.

Bill Belichick may have just hired his successor.

4 star QB, highest rated UNC recruit of 2025, bolts after seeing the cluster next season will be.

Another freshman 4-star recruit says adios to BB and lil Jordon Humpme.

Turns out she's about as good at singing as she is at public relations...

She does have a good set of lungs, tho...

Was signbabybrady banned or did he just leave?

2025 was a rough year for Bill and his cheerleaders. Becomes a national laughingstock thanks to bimbo Bunny. Totally faceplants at UNC. Patriots win 13+ games and the division which Bill couldn’t do sans Brady. With a QB that Bill clearly did not like when drafted. Woooooof

I'm not happy about it, but clearly anyone with any degree of self-awareness would not be doing what he's been doing for quite a while now.

If he wasn't an *******, he could have realized he was losing his fastball so gracefully do everything he could to get his protege Mayo up to speed and ready to take over, then gone off to coach lacrosse on Nantucket or whatever the hell he else wanted to do.

Instead he blue-balled Mayo, took up with a gold digger, let her and Fat Mike build up this 33rd NFL team thing that has been an utter failure and torched his legacy.

Now we have UNC fans leaving early or not showing up, current players hitting the portal, and new recruits not buying Fat Mike's pitch.

The man's got tens of millions of dollars in the bank, and this is the life he chose for himself.

For someone we thought was smart, his choices are unfathomable.

So then Todd Hailey must have been a better HC then Belichick considering he took that Jag QB to the playoffs, something Belichick couldnt do.

Matt Cassel was better than a jag. And no I dont think Todd Hailey was a better HC than Belichick but if you are going to say his 10 win season was so impressive because of Matt Cassel then Todd Hailey was more impressive with the same QB.

Was 2008 really all that impressive for Bill? Hard to say.

Sure they didn’t crater once they lost Brady and credit to Bill for that. But his defense was depantsed by the wildcat and they couldn’t stop any good offenses. People clown on this year’s Pats for their easy schedule but I think that season had just as easy a schedule and they didn’t win as many games as this years Pats even with a much better roster outside of QB.

I also wonder if Josh should be getting as much or more credit than Bill for developing Cassel.
