Have you seen some of things some posters have been posting here? Someone flat out said they hated the man.

Some probably do hate him, but most respect the Dynasty he built, but are critical and honest about his performance post Brady, and the way he conducts himself now. There was no bigger Belichick fanboy than Jerry Thornton, and even he came out criticizing him for the way he's conducting himself, and pointed to the fact that the reason no one who knows Belichick has come to his defense is because of the way he treated people " on the way up." Even he recognized that Belichick has a long history of treating people like ****, and he's paying the price for that now.

The other factor that is at play, at least in this forum, is that the Cult of Belichick has been so outrageous that people are calling them and out on it, and doubling down on their criticism of Belichick in the process, and he has certainly given everyone the ammunition to tear him apart.

After one quarter, this is a much worse showing by both teams than the Cal-UNC game.
Maybe I am wrong about UNC playing better every week.
Pitiful.

UNC turned it around in the 2nd half. Actually looked decent pounding the rock. Got their first ACC win. Truth be told, I think it was more Syracuse being inept, but a win is a win. As the announcers said, UNC could be 5-3 with a couple of breaks. I hope they keep it up.

yeah Syracuse had a lacrosse player starting at QB for them with predictable results so there’s really not much to take away from a win like that. It’s one of those games where you learn nothing positive about your team if you win but you’ll learn plenty of negative if you don’t.

I actually don't care if they make a bowl game or not other than the fact that the players get extra practices/reps but with the portal that isn't as big of a deal. I just want to see them improving every week. This week didn't really tell us much. The QB for Syracuse was just bad. Next up is Stanford. Stanford isn't a world beater but neither is UNC. I just hope UNC limits the pre-snap penalties and mistakes that plagued them earlier in the year. Show up, buy into the system and keep improving.

It's a fringe element, just like the element that has weaponized the word 'hater' to try to polarize the board and to try to stifle any/all critical discussion of any aspect of Bill's career.

I think the majority of Patriots fans are willing to admit that Bill was coaching at a GOAT level early in his tenure here, but lost his fastball somewhere in the last few years that he was HC of NEP. If they can't/won't admit it, they will at least admit it's a valid topic for discussion. It's the fringe element that says we need to erase everything after 2019 or so, as if it never happened.

They are completely aimless. They are promising a fresh start next year because (supposedly) they are recruiting all sorts of Freshman.

So WTF exactly is the long term plan...? They ain't going to win 5 games next year if the team is mostly Freshman. Then the next year you'll have a 75 year old trying to make chicken salad out of chicken **** in his last (guaranteed) year of his contract.

They are playing better the past two weeks, no question. I don’t know jackshit about the opposition though and Syracuse has a losing record themselves.

Still a sad state where Bill is being applauded for 3-5 as a college coach.
