The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Even worse, UNC has put him in charge of shaping the future of 18 to 22 year olds, and he's already showing his petty squabbles are more important than they are.

I guarantee you they are at least discussing with their lawyers if his contract has any out to fire him with cause and not owe him the money.

Bill’s team scores 3 points in the second half against a national powerhouse like Charlotte. lol. Lmao even.

Why did they get rid of Mack Brown again?

Total backstab? Bill had to realize his time was coming to an end. If he was a GOAT and not an ******* he would have set Mayo up to succeed.

Belichick hired him and he went behind his back to sign a deal to be his successor, while it’s totally legal I think it’s really unethical. If Kraft wanted Mayo to take over he either should have brought Belichick in to make sure he was ok with a signed successor to take his job, or fired Belichick then and there and named Mayo coach. I’m sure plenty of people will disagree with that but that’s how I see it.

I agree. Belichick has every right to tell the Patriots to **** off if he wants to, but he has no right to bring his players into the conflict.

I do disagree, but I get your point. OTOH, what Bill did by freezing out Mayo hurt the entire team. He could have had it out with Mayo and called him out for being a **** then moved on, but nope, he chose to act like a child. Yet another case where Bill puts his own perogatives ahead of everyone else's.

Man Bill’s Tar Heel team is complete

Remember when some talked about Bill making them a playoff team? Good times
Remember when some said a year or two in Chapel Hill and then an NFL team would want him?

If Bill is petty enough to do all of this then let it forever be on the record that he is also petty enough to bench Malcolm Butler in a Super Bowl for no good reason at all even at the cost of a championship. Which it was.

No need to overthink it anymore.
This was always a given from the moment Butler was seen crying on live television, the offense didn't punt once, the defense couldn't get one stop and Bill still didn't put Butler in the game, at least for one drive.

Considering Butler didn't do anything criminal, whatever else he did, or Belichick supposed he did, it vastly, vastly paled in comparison to sabotaging the players, the team, everyone who works for the organization and the fans. It was Butler's last game on his contract. Play him, win the SB, get all the credit as a coach, then throw him out the door.

After that fiasco, and Belichick having the temerity to claim at the post-game press conference that he did what he did because it was the best for the team, making an absolute bum of a QB, who won seven more games for the rest of his career, with a TD/INT rate of 21/18, win the SB MVP, nothing he has done since has surprised me at all.

Why would anything he has said and done in the last five years be seen as unexpected, when he put his ego before the good of an entire organization, and showed absolutely no remorse for it?

Is there any evidence that Bill's not welcome at Foxboro?
That’s what’s so confusing about the whole thing. There’s no evidence whatsoever that Bill is not welcome in Foxboro, but when do you even see a HC hanging out with his former team?

Calling ******** on that one…
Russini:
A source close to Belichick, meanwhile, was told that a Patriots staffer was informed in New England’s weight room he should remove his UNC shirt. But a Patriots source pointed out that starting quarterback Drake Maye — who went to North Carolina — often wears UNC gear around the facility with zero issues.

“A source close to Belichick”

So in order to believe the story, we have to believe a low level employee told the star QB he can’t wear UNC, that start QB complained about it to Belichick, Belichick discussed it with Bunny - uh I mean a source close to him - and then Bunny - uh I mean a source close to Belichick - told the media.

Yeah I just ain’t buying it.

He beat…let me check…Charlotte? I didn’t even know such a college existed.
Game ball for his offense scoring 3 points in the second half. That is impressive although not so much in a positive way.

Bunny or Lombardi. Either wouldn’t surprise me.

Probably that sycophant douche bag Mike Lombardi lying like usual.

Next game is even easier: Richmond.

Then the fun begins. One last OOC game against UCF and then it’s time for ACC play.

It’s theoretically possible for Bill to get UNC to a bowl game considering there’s about 50 to choose from and people will still watch him. But that ACC schedule is going to be tough.

I heard on the news this am a current NEP player who was wearing a UNC t-shirt in the weight room was told to change by a NEP employee. Unknown if it was Drake

Seems the pettiness is flowing both ways. Children.

What closed door meeting are you referring to?
Belichick confirmed those reports Saturday, saying the decision was in response to a closed-door edict in New England.

Oh absolutely he will get to a bowl game. You only need 6 wins for that - and even then they will carve out an exception.

But as I have said many times…. If he peaks at 7/8/9 wins and a trip to Landsdowne Street, that would be an abysmal failure.
