The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Except for you all the time
Sure, suggesting Tom was a young player in 2001 who needed a lot of development is mean to Tom… something he would and has admitted in the past.

This is why nobody can take cheerleading fanboys seriously.

Tom Brady was named the starting QB for Michigan in both 1998 and 1999. Henson would platoon with Brady the first 5 games in 1999 until Brady outperformed him so badly that Coach Carr stopped the platoon.

Don't you ever get tired of being proven wrong?
Except when I’m 100% correct…

“During his senior season at Michigan in 1999, Tom Brady split starts with Drew Henson for the first seven games of the season. The plan, devised by head coach Lloyd Carr, was for Henson to start the first quarter and Brady the second quarter, with the "hot hand" taking over for the remainder of the game.Michigan won five of the first six games in this arrangement. After a poor performance by Henson in the second half against Michigan State, Brady was named the starter for the rest of the season. Therefore, Brady split starts with Henson in seven games during his final season.”

Like most revisionist history you fanboys are imagining it….

We've been telling you repeatedly. Let me try again.

Bill Belichick had 8 losing seasons out of 11 without his top QB. No other HC comes close to that. The closest is Andy Reid with 3, but most have 1 or none.
This is nonsensical stat, Tom was his QB for twenty years. He had a better record with Testeverde than Kosar… so what?

You’re comparing a team builder to a single player, why not compare a kitchen table to a power drill.

You jokers need to twist yourselves in pretzels to explain to us how the most successful coach in NFL history somehow inexplicably sucked at his job. Talk about a total lack of awareness.

Bill drafted and developed Brady, Brady learned how to read defenses from Bill… Tom’s words. Bill doesn’t have to qualify his record with or without… that’s just what childish haters do.

Helping the clowns keep their favorite thread pinned to the top, you should be thanking me. Now you don’t have to create meaningless posts just to keep bumping your fav thread.

"“There’s no owner, there’s no owner’s son, there’s no cap, everything that goes with the marketing and everything else, which I’m all for that. But it’s way less of what it was at that level,” he continued. “Generic NFL teams, you have the owner, president, general manager, personnel director, college director, pro director, cap guy, some other consultant, then head coach. I’d say when we had our best years in New England, we had fewer people and more of a direct vision. And as that expanded, it became harder to be successful.” - BB

Poor Bill... must have been so hard for him in the NFL winning championships having the greatest QB of all time making his job easier.

"We sucked because I didn't get my way" lmao

What a fvkn crybaby. Can't wait till he goes 5-7 with UNC and lets the excuses fly.

And yet you respond doing the same thing. You can't help yourself. Don't let your hoodied hero down! Lol

That's what you think you are doing. What your actions show you are trying to do is ONLY talk about the positive aspects of Bill's late-period career on a thread whose sub-title says "HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc." and using crude tactics such as name calling to try to control the discussion to your liking.

To many of us it is interesting to discuss how such a legendary coach could lose his fastball, fall into a honey trap, not be able to find another NFL job, and end up being the over-paid coach of a mid-level CFB team whose staff is filled with relatives and cronies while being laughed at by a large part of the NFL media and fan base.

It turns out our heros are people too, and thus have flaws. There's a lot to be learned from that, instead of just pretending they are perfect.
I can't control what the mods title a thread and what they merge together.

And please enlighten me as to what I can learn from 50 pictures of bunny rabbits?

How did it go when the owners meddled?

“Ownership, coaching and scouts must be on the same page in order to be successful” and he had that up until about the last four years in New England. - 2025 interview

"I didn't get my way so that's why we sucked"

Embarrassing.

@Bill Lee

Please explain to me how this is meaningful dialogue with anything to be learned?

Again you act like I'm making things up then openly say the reason you are here "is to talk about how Bill lost his fastball and then fell into a honey trap." Apparently that's behavior consistent with being a little fan of someone.

I'm here to talk about one of my favorite sports figures of all time. I like to post nice things about him that I find on social. I'm not a big college football guy but I've tried to discuss a little about how the UNC off-season went and some of the cool mic'd up stuff they've done with him. And hopefully following UNC will get me more interested in college ball. I invite more people to come in here and talk actual football.

But unfortunately every other post is some ahole putting up a bunny picture or some other form of hate. So I spend most of my time defending him. Most of these guys like SB1 have owned up to being a Jets fan or XLIX owned up to being Wrong Borges. For some reason you insist on being known as the little fan.
The man has no idea who you are and you're in here defending him like he's your father. People feel differently about him than you do. Most of appreciate what he did here but can acknowledge plenty of mistakes were made down the stretch. You just seem to think he's infallible.

Bill drafted and developed Brady, Brady learned how to read defenses from Bill… Tom’s words.
You mean Bill did his job and any defensive coordinator or coach would do the same thing? Yay go Bill! Lol
Bill doesn’t have to qualify his record with or without… that’s just what childish haters do.
And yet here is your hoodied hero whining that his teams sucked because he can't get his own way. And "oh well I didn't like the NFL much anyway college football is better" "That fkn owners son". Speaking of childish...

The problem should have been fixed by Kraft. But instead he made matters worse with his hit-piece after Bill was gone. Patriots fans deserve better.
Yep. Bob couldn't control himself.

In the last 4 pages I made exactly 1 post about Brady wearing a One Piece shirt, yet according to Wozz and signbradybaby my haterade is what is keeping this thread alive.

And please enlighten me as to what I can learn from 50 pictures of bunny rabbits?

Same as what I just wrote, it's a reminder that you can't keep pretending your heroes are perfect when they aren't. The man was a great coach, lost his fastball, fell into a honey trap, and ended up being rejected by 32 NFL teams. Given these teams do their homework, clearly they read how his honey now magically owns millions of dollars of real estate. Clearly once you know this you don't hand your billion-dollar franchise over to such a person. Clearly bunny chasing is a big part of why he is no longer in the NFL.

I acknowledge he made mistakes I just don't think he made enough over a long enough period of time that he didn't warrant another chance.

But apparently 3 losing seasons after winning our team 6 SBs is enough to make my opinion ludicrous.

And moreso in the eyes of his haters because Mac wasn't good and Stidham wasn't Jimmy that it somehow invalidates the rest of Bill's career to just being a product of Brady.

And since when do you have to know someone personally to defend them? There are thousands of examples throughout history of people doing the right thing for people they don't know because it's the right thing to do. Calling yourself a Patriots fan and obsessing over Bill's worst season is just a loser miserable masshole thing to do.

"We sucked because I didn't get my way" lmao

Odd thing is he had more power than any other executive in the NFL and probably hired all those people he now complains about.

The reason the Krafts got more into "his business" as time went on was that it was clear the team was heading in the wrong direction in the post-Brady era, and especially in the post-2021 era, but he never acknowledges that.

As you suggest, let's see who he blames if/when things at UNC goes sour.
