The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Vrabel might clap back at the media once in a while but there’s a reason why he doesn’t have the reputation of being an ass and BB does. Even Marv Levy’s wife despises BB and that’s for a reason.
You haven't done any research into this particular subject. Tennessee beat reporters say he's more of an ass than Belichick.

As I said, he’s setting the parameters for how his press conferences will go. He’s not going to tolerate lazy stupid questions, such as the one Volin asked. Which Guregian had already asked and he had answered at length. This will be good for the press conferences as the reporters will have to either ask good questions, or get torched. As he noted Perry is an intelligent reporter, so he expects intelligent questions from him. I have no problem with that at all.

I don’t put any stock into anything any hillbilly with 3 teeth has to say.

I’m not sure they have any more insight into BB than us Patriots fans.

Doubt Vrabel would ever publicly belittle a HOF coach like BB did though.

And this attitude did not help him when the team’s -gate scandals were news. The media could have shaped public perception very differently than it did.

Bill had what a half dozen media jobs last season:

How did Belichick belittle Marv Levy? As far as I know, all he ever said was that he would not be coaching into his 70's like Levy. That is not belittling. That was stating how he felt at the time. He never said Levy was too old, washed up, senile, etc. He just said that HE (Belichick) would not be coaching into his 70's like Levy. He was 57 at the time. He also stated that he was wrong in saying that when he turned 70 and felt the way he felt. He admitted he never should have said it because he felt he was still going stong at age 70. He also partially took back his words when he was 67 when he said "I'm not really sure if that's an accurate statement today or not." I fail to see why you (or Levy's wife) felt it was belittling. If Belichick did some other bashing of Marv Levy please let me know, but this is all I remember and it seems to be a lot of nothing.

That was all Belichick said, and he took it back and admitted he was wrong.

No it wasn’t about his age it was about his coaching ability. Totally uncalled for and I don’t blame levy’s wife at all for her reaction.

Especially since this was BB in Cleveland who at the time had won absolutely nothing. Levy had 4 conference championships in a row.

Thank you.
I was unaware of this being where their "feud" started.
Still, it looks like Levy suggested that Belichick had his players fake injuies to slow down the Bills offense and Belichick said it was garbage and say it was hard for him to have respect for Levy for saying that.
I still don't see where Belichick is wrong. Worst case, BB's team took advantage of loopholes in the rulebook and the opposing coach complained. Sound familiar? This time it appears Belichick responded. Probably because he respected Levy and didn't expect that kind of whining from him. Or maybe it was because he was less experienced and didn't know the proper etiquette. I don't know.
IMO, Levy is the one whining about what happened. Much like the whole NFL whining about everything during the Pats dynasty (Spygate, Deflategate, Steelers "Headset" gate, "Harbaugh learn the rules" gate, Bengals spygate 2, etc. ) This was just a bunch of BS. I always liked Levy and thought he was a pretty good old school football guy but him *****ing about the Browns slowing his team down makes him look like Mike Tomlin. If you think the Patriots and Belichick cheated with all their "-gates" during the dynasty then I guess Marv and Fran Levy are right. I don't. I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

It's one thing if he said he lost respect for Levy for whining about it but BB mocking his coaching ability like running the "Wing-T offense in Kansas City" wasn't called for. That's why his wife despises BB.

Again this was BB in Cleveland who had won nothing at the time talking crap about a coach coming off 4 straight SB appearances. I'm sure he'd take that comment back now but it shows he was always an a-hole, not a nice guy.

Again nothing other than that SB win over those Bills.
