Well, there actually is a little bit more to the UNC statement. Here it is again:
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,” the statement explains, via Chris Vannini of TheAthletic.com. “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
They state she is not an employee of the university or of its athletics program.
They state she will manage Bill's personal brand outside of anything related to the university or its athletics program.
Why would a university feel they need to issue such a statement?
She doesn't work for us.
She doesn't represent our brand.
Definitely not a ban, but a firm line has been drawn.
They didn't do this because they wanted to.
There's no reason they would want to have to issue such a statement.
They did it because they felt they had to.
