The AFC: Yikes=Offensively Challenged

Reiss posted his divisional rankings and it was scary if your are an AFC team.

His order may be up for debate within the conferences....but the reality is...the AFC is offensively challenged. I did a quick glance at each conference and I determined that there are approximately 8 NFC teams that can consistently put up points but maybe only 3 AFC teams. As always, it starts with the QBs and the AFC has question marks/newbies on 8 teams while the NFC is more solidified with only 3 teams dealing with QB uncertainties.
Looking at the top tier AFC teams, these squads have big holes that may not affect them in the regular season...Denver's D and O line, Texas's QB play and lack of WR options....Cincy may be the most complete team but how excited can anyone be with Daulton. And after the Denver slaughter, it is tough to think Baltimore can ascend again.
Besides watching Pats games, is there an AFC vs AFC game that you just can't miss watching....maybe Denver/Houston.

Yes, the NFC has had first dibs for a long stretch ...Bradford, Ryan, Stafford, Alex Smith, Vick, Ellie Manning, Newton.....pretty amazing actually how many premium picks went to the NFC the past decade. AFC had Forehead and Luck...... But the real NFC contenders (besides ATL)struck gold later in the draft..... Kaepernick (2nd) and Wilson (3rd) were attainable by all teams, like Brady. More of a who and not a when.
But...you are absolutely right.....The cycle IS more real than I realized

Considering how awful the NFC West was for such a long stretch, it's about time they turned things around. They were the worst division in the NFL for about ten straight years, from 2002-2011.

So what multiple teams are in contention for the #2 if the Pats aren't? There isn't really a second impressive AFC team right now.

You have been reading too many preseason previews and their BS. The NFC is full of over rated teams playing well below their preseason publicity.

The NFCWEST, the supposedly "strongest" division is 4-4. The NFCEAST is 3-5. Collectively they have a losing record at 7-9.

Whereas the pitiful "weakest" AFCEAST is 6-2; and the slightly less pitiful AFCWEST is only 5-3. The two supposedly weakest divisions are collectively 11-5!

You can take this observation and sell it to the the preseason BS artists.
