Content Post The 2014 Edition : Jets continue to suck (what else is new)

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

The Jets have a rotting body tissue disease for a nickname. Gang Green. Perfect.

Forgot about the Colts sitting Manning for the playoffs.

They sat everybody, not just P6. Indy wanted to give the game to the Jets to keep Pittsburgh out of the playoffs. It worked too, right up until P6 threw a P6 to end the SB.

No, you ignored the fact that the Jets were one stop away from the SB.

If we apply the "one stop away" rule you advocate here to the Pats, we'd have either:
  • no Pats SB wins (if applied against us)
  • 10 SB appearances in the past 14 years, and 6-8 SB titles (if applied in our favor)
Every time you post here you provide more evidence of how deluded, ignorant, and desperate the Jets fan base is.

Not just the Colts. One other team had to lie down for them, although I forget who it was.

The Bengals had already clinched their playoff position and sat everyone after a couple of series' in the last game vs New Jersey.

One stop away... that one always makes me laugh out loud.

Note to Clipper...errr Jet fans. You're still 2 stops away.

You have to (1) win the AFCCG...and (2) win the SB (I know you'd be THRILLLLLLED to just be there (SB game) for the first time in 50 years, but you actually have to win that one too).

My aching head

Please don't bring this cr*p here. There are more appropriate places to express this kind of thing. And these issues are much too important to be dealt with in a sports message board.

Sorry if it bothered you, but it was a joke in response to Joker's "if the Jets were terrorists" comment. It couldn't be more appropriate.

Why don't you send me a list of what else you consider cr*p that shouldn't be dealt with in a sports message board. Maybe rape, child abuse or wife battering are more acceptable topics.

Can we at least agree that the Jets still suck?

Hold on! That most definitely IS appropriate for this thread. Did you read the article? It's a Jets player causing serious controversy off the field because of his ethno-political alliance and it's being tolerated by the organization. I, for one, wouldn't have known about it otherwise. 1960Pats deserves credit for an interesting find. Let's not be overly PC here.

Jets GM John Idzik involved in early stages of coaching search
December 14, 2014 9:00 am ET

Beleaguered Jets general manager John Idzik, who has been at the center of fan and media scorn in just his second season on the job, has been helping craft the preparations for the franchise's ensuing coaching search along with owner Woody Johnson, league sources said, at a time when many have wondered if the GM would be back himself.

Playing the Green Beans this time of year, after winning the division, is like having to clean the toilets before guests arrive for the weekend. No good really comes from it other than you can cross it off your list. It's just a smelly, crappy job that must be done and quickly forgotten as you advance to more meaningful pursuits.

But before your brief encounter with lingering filth is finished, you must flush away fetid remnants to the sewer where they belong. There, these metaphorical embodiments of Wrecks Ryan's career as head bloviator, Dogkiller Ron Mexico's pathetic soullessness and other vestiges of New Jersey-borne human waste coalesce in a festering green mass of utter putridity ... bleak, formless and foul.

Within these dank depths of unholy worthless decay lurk opportunistic bacteria (Jets fans), surviving parasitically on burbling noxious gases emanating from this used-and-discarded bio matter. Paralyzed by torpor, their spans are short and meaningless. Never exposed to light or true life-giving sustenance, these mindless, barely-there organisms miserably and forlornly meet their fate: eternal assimilation into the gluey green glop of static despair. Gloom, anguish, despondency. The annual cycle flows ever on ...

Anything that causes a distraction from football and invites political conversation is cr*p here. It only leads to us divided against one another, when the real issue is that...yes, the Jets suck.

OK, Tune, you keep poking, here's the best source of real information on this guy:

Even here, in this dark corner of the internet, we have some responsibility for the quality of civil society. People, even Jets, shouldn't be attacked through lingering bigotries that get oxygen from intentionally constructed, inflammatory misinformation like what was posted here.

Get off your misguided high horse, you're making no sense. WHO is having a freaking "political conversation"? This thread is about dysfunctional Jets culture. 1960Pats simply alerted us to yet another example of it.

Bah. My friend, YOU are the one turning this into a "dreaded political conversation." Of course there is more than one side to every story. I don't care which side you might believe is wrong or which side 1960Pats believes is right. A Jets player is involved in controversy off the field. Regardless of why, it should not be considered "off limits" to discussion here.

WE didn't create the stories. OR the controversy. How could this possibly be more "untouchable" than Wrecks Ryan's proven Internet-based sexcapade perversions, Antonio Cromartie's out-of-wedlock multiplicities, Santonio Holmes' drug use or Vick's felonious atrocities? Feel free to "set the records straight" on them as well if you wish. Aboushi is just part of the parade.

Finally, if you truly are concerned about preserving "the quality of civil society," your choice of threads for that mission is highly suspect. (Aside from acknowledging its obvious public service value. )

I'm thinking you are right...except in this thread.

Speaking of damning, and obviously completely true, media reports on the Jests:
Report: Jets Players Lied About Concussion Symptoms To Get Out Of Games
Bringing further attention to the NFL’s ongoing struggles with head-trauma-related issues, an anonymous survey published Thursday by ESPN revealed that multiple players from the New York Jets lied about suffering from concussion symptoms to get out of games this season.

Almost time for the Brett Hundley era to begin.

According to the new league policy they will now have to give him the choice of either going to the Jets to play QB for them or lie down on a cold stone slab and have his chest cut open and heart ripped from his body onstage at the Draft. I'm betting on the latter.
