The 2013 season: The Jets suck (as usual)

"Police in Watertown collected the unexploded IEDs and delivered them them to the New York Jets coaching staff, citing their ability to remove any explosive capability instantly."

Orioles manager tells Wrecks to shut the eff up:

Orioles’ manager tells Rex Ryan to worry about his own team | ProFootballTalk

Orioles manager Buck Showalter says if Ryan is concerned with anything about Baltimore, he ought to be concerned about the Jets’ meeting with Baltimore this season.

“I think I’d be a little more concerned about November 24 when the Jets come here and try to figure out a way to beat the Ravens, wouldn’t you?,” Showalter said, via CSNBaltimore.com. “I’d think that would be a little bit more of a challenge. I try to stay out of things I don’t know about. Like I don’t know about the NFL schedule and the NFL challenges. So that would be my advice. I would stay in what is my area of supposed expertise.”

Showalter’s use of the word “supposed” there is a nice touch. And it’s a fair point: Ryan has enough to worry about with the Jets, that he’d probably be wise not to get involved with issues that don’t affect his team.

Whenever there's a slow time in the NFL we can count on another great moment from The Mouth That Roared. He's the biggest dope of a HC in sports.

For the longest time I thought it was intentional. And I still think much of it was, especially in the beginning. But lately, it seems he just can't help himself.

Well, his dieting did kill his brain cells. . . .

I actually agree with Rex on this one. I can't wait to see the Orioles play to a half empty stadium on that day.

But it's none of his damn business! That's the point. If it involved his own team that's one thing, but it doesn't.

Breakthrough: Jets have granted permission for CB Darrelle Revis to visit Tampa Bay and undergo a physical with the Buccanners, per sources.

The JEST are looking prepared to embrace the suck that is the 2013 Jest season.

According to some Jets fans it was a brilliant strategy by Sexy Rexy.

Ryan is a chip off the old blockhead.

I come to this thread every few months. So, as we approach the NFL Draft next weekend, I just want to say:

"Yes, indeed, the Jets do suck, as usual."

I'll be back again at Training Camp time.

Easily the worst team.

-Their offense is led by a QB who is statistically inbetween David Carr and Joey Harrington. Four years in, Jets fans can't make excuses he's still developing. One of worst busts at QB in the last decade.
-As you say, a bottom five RB core led by a 3 JAG trio in Goodson, Powell, and Mcknight.
-WR. I think Brady/Manning etc. could make Holmes, Hill, Kerley look pretty good. Fortunately, Sanchez can't hit wide open Stephen Hill past 15 yards anyway.
-TE. Absolutely nothing here at this point, terrible.
-OL. Pretty mediocre unit with nothing at guard and RT.

Offense: I expect it to be one of the worst in the last decade, and certainly the worst in the league. A bottom 3 QB paired with a mediocre o-line and weapons, it'll certainly be a sight to see!

-DL. Coples-Garay/Ellis-Wilkerson. Nothing special, Wilkerson is turning into a fine player, Garay is a JAG, and Coples meh so far.
-LB. Mediocre across the board. OLB is terrible.
-CB. Only strength besides C on the whole team. Best unit in the league, won't matter. scratch that, average unit with an overrated #1 CB
-S. Worst unit in league as of now.

Defense: I expect them to be average-below average Not terrible, but Sanchez's 100 turnovers and the inept offense will make this unit seem worse than they are.

Offense rank: 32nd
Defense rank: 16-20th
Record: 2-14 nah, 1-15
Sanchez and Rex Canned.

Jets are on the clock at #1, probably taking Manziel and getting Gruden or someone to coach the new era of Jets suckage.

That's better

Jets just traded their best player in how many years? They are basically an explansion team this year. I see them coming in last in the division

I am waiting for this announcement Thursday "With the 9th pick, the New York Jets draft Geno Smith, Quarterback, University of West Virgina." To further add to the hilarity behind Sanchez.

Now we need to figure out who the new bust they will add with 13, unless they pull the ultimate Jets move and give up both 1sts for the chance to draft Smith.

Kyle Wilson..starting CB for YOUR NY Rats..."Brady comes to the line and ...wait...he's not even surveying the defense...here's the quick snap...and...another completion for 12 yards to the left side...that makes 15 straight completions on Kyle Wilson in the 1st quarter alone..."

In Vietnam the Jets are considered a delicacy, and their scales are used in traditional medicine.

Sorry, that's pangolins. The Jets have no such value.

This has to be the mistype of the year.

explansion: The increasingly outrageous lies offered to excuse bad behavior.

Word of the day: Explansion - Democratic Underground

If you ask me, that explains the Jets quite well under Woody and Wrecks. They definitely are an "explansion" team. Another way of looking at it would be a mix of "expansion" and "explosion." They definitely are "blowing it up" this season, trading Revis being just an example.

We should hope and pray they take Smith. The book on him is that he's tremendously gifted physically but hates to study in the film room and can't read defenses to save his life.

I guess there is always another level of bottom to seek, but Revis is pretty much the only Jet you can blow up anymore. The rest of it is just blowing up a group of JAGs to replace them with rookie JAGs waiting to be proven JAGs. But bear in mind they could hit the jackpot in the draft and get the next Chad Pennington

We should hope and pray they take Smith. The book on him is that he's tremendously gifted physically but hates to study in the film room and can't read defenses to save his life.

Great. Now Belichick's going to be playing chess while these guys can't be bothered to learn checkers.

Checkers? Most of those guys are still trying to master "Red Light, Green Light." "Pat, Pat, Jet" might be more level-appropriate for that brain "trust."

They never quite did master the fine points... most NFL coaches preach it's a game of inches... to Rex, it's a game of feet...

It was a trade that needs to be done. He kept forcing them to give him overpriced contracts, was a team cancer, me first player who is a CORNERBACK and they are maxed out on overpriced guys already and needed to dump salary. They are no where near being a competitor.

LOL at the idiot jets fans who thought they were getting two firsts and two seconds. What a complete joke. Idiots.
