If Penix is the target they can make another trade down from 12 and he’ll be there. 12 is a reach imo

Trading from 3 to 11 to 4 to 12 is absurd even by your standards

Take McCarthy via trade at #4 and then take Penix at #12? If they have McCarthy, why would they also take Penix and pass up one of the top OT prospects (as we need another OT as well to go with Bowles), or solid WR's left on the board? Am I missing something?

It is a little tough to read.

He has the Pats trading down from #3 to #11, back up to #4, then down to #12.
In the end the Patriots have one first round draft pick, #12 (Penix).

The Pats traded #4 to Denver for CB Patrick Surtain, LT Garrett Bolles and the Broncos #12 pick in this draft.

The Vikings took Drake Maye at #3 and the Broncos took JJ McCarthy at #4.

Patriots get their QB at #12, and OT via the trade. Now they can pick the best wide receiver at #34 - though I have a feeling there will be more trades in round two instead.

(This should also answer your comment, @cmasspatsfan )

So, a total nightmare of a draft scenario? I've followed this team through thick and thin since Plunkett was the QB. If we have a draft even remotely like this one, I'm done! I'll just become as Packers Fan as I moved to the Green Bay area from the Boston area in 2001.

Based on past years, the next few rounds should be highly entertaining.

What did you have for breakfast?

Appreciate the post. Do not like the results of this mock draft.

A lock down CB, a solid LT, and Penix Jr. in round 1 with us picking up: A 3rd, a 2025 1st from the Broncos, and a 2026 3rd from the Cardinals...

Can't complain about that haul.....if Penix doesn't work out...we have two firsts to take care of the QB position next year...
