Patriots Player Departure Thank you, Jonathan Jones

Nothing but love for him as a fan. One of the last examples of all that was good and right with the BB/Brady/Dynasty era team. Great player development success story. Came in unheralded, scratched and clawed his way on the team through special teams and made himself into a key contributor for super bowl teams.

I remember Chung going down vs the Rams in the last SB win with basically a half to play and Jones was able to shift his role and help pick up the slack. That type of stuff was a staple of the team for a while and hopefully we can get back to that.

Jones - while sometimes maligned here - has been an excellent Patriots player. When he was locking down Tyreek, when he was playing hard and not complaining. There was a lot to like about someone who never made top NFL $$$ and yet produced at a VG level.

While I’m not crying about his departure, I recognize that he’s been a key cog at important times.

Commandos are looking to make a SB run. Hope he wins one as long as we aren't playing them.

JJ was great here. Top 6 CBs in B era.

If he plays vs Philly we win.

I was hoping he might be in the mix for a free safety role for us. Good landing spot. Hope to see him make some plays in primetime with WASH.

Would have been nice to have his veteran leadership on this team, but... he's probably close to retiring and wants to hit that championship feel again. Nothing but best wishes for him.

His claim to fame was erasing Tyreek Hill....with a S over the top.

He was a fine slot DB going undrafted, but he sure found ways to get injured when the team needed him most - Aqib Talib disease.

Glad him and the Pats are moving on.

Great career in NE but it is time.

He became a vital part when he wasn't supposed to even make the team.
An unheralded leader and glue in that secondary even with DMC and Gillmore back there.

I was hoping they'd find a spot for him at FS. But, we'll carry on - and Marcus Jones is the next man up.

Good luck, JJ! You have always done what you have been asked to do, and have always conducted yourself as a quiet leader on the team.
Best wishes in all that you do, except against the Pats.

If he doesn't get hurt in the Divisional game against Tenessee in 2018 the Pats win Super Bowl 52.
