Yeah, it was nuts - especially since we've seen it before. But the coaches (mostly McDaniels and some by BB) made so many mistakes, this last one is hardly surprising.

Inexcusable, but then it never should have gotten to that point. Allowing Eli to escape a third down sack and launch the ball downfield for a completion was equally inexcusable, and besides - holding the Giants to 17 points should have been enough by the defense to win the ball game. I'm sure if we had known for sure coming into the game that NE's defense would hold the Giants to 17 points, virtually ALL of us would have been completely sure of a Pats win.
