Barmore is done. The treatment for blood clots is blood thinners, which are dangerous for athletes, especially in a contact sport, because you can bleed to death. A deep bruise turns into life-threatening internal bleeding. That's what Barmore is weighing: retire now with my millions of dollars and enjoy life on the beach and whatever other pleasures I can pursue, or continue to play and risk death. I know which one I'd choose. It's not worth it.
Of course, taking blood thinners makes clotting less likely and bleeding more likely.

I'm not sure how much of an issue this is considering modern medicine and the amount of medical help available at the stadium (and probably a helicopter on call to get to the hospital in a few minutes).

They never identified the cause of the second stroke, but did say it was transient ischemic attack (TIA), which is not a full stroke, but a mini-stroke. It's may be related to the surgery he had to address the hole in his heart, but that was never clarified, so it may have been an independent event. We don't know.
Going to start calling you Doogie

One mistake Covington kept making was sticking to base defense too much. The last few years, when our defense was decent, we were operating in nickle with more defensive backs on the field. So I believe we'll be going back to seeing a lot more of that.

Some folks think that the schemes used are developed are done to best fit the talent of the players (perhaps after the initial free agency) rather than trying to fit players into a particular system.
Look at your players and run a system that suits them. Wrong to try it the other way, but it happens

Agreed, but it's a passing league now, so having strength in our defensive backs and a strong line seem like the direction we want to head with player acquisition, too.

That’s not how NFL teams operate. They decide on the systems they want to run, and then they draft and sign players that fit those systems.

BLOOD THINNERS
I read a bit in the last hour or so. A player probably should not play while on blood thinners, although there are anti-coagulant therapies available.

There should be no restrictions if a player no longer needs blood thinners. There is a blood test that measures the likelyhood of clotting. A player who has a history of blood clots would need to take this blood test regularly and not play if the blood test indicates that he is abnormally likely to have blood clots.
======
Of course, I'm sure that players get up every hour or so when flying a walk for 5 minutes, thus avoiding the most likely cause of clotting. My wife almost died because of not getting up on a long flight.

Talk about a non sequitur
Drew Bledsoe came back from sheered blood vessels. Then when he first got a chance to play again he threw a beautiful pass to David Patten in the back of the end zone.

Non sequitur but wow was that moment was awesome.

Slater's role seems like a fluff job that I can't imagine any benefit to removing. Seems more like a Kraft decision to just keep paying Slater out of love and respect than it does an actual coaching decision to be made by Vrabel.
They could always hire Jack Easterby back........................ (sarcasm emoji)

I think it can only get better and I’m good with this hiring.

Not to harken back to the golden days but the all encompassing all devouring amoeba D/ front? I’m sure depending on the opponent things will change outside the base D.
I think your right PBP.. ️ the defense will be a game plan defense under Williams, aggressive front with stout DL and LBs.

Draft:
M. Graham

Sign:
Azeez Ojulari
Carlton Davis
Julian Blackmon
Nice Players I like.

I want Jack Sawyer bad in the draft
Imagine getting him or a Combo of Mason Graham/Sawyer or Abdul Carter/Sawyer. Me and you could play CB for the Patriots along side Gonzo... bring the Heat!!
