There are 10 roster decisions that affecting 26 players by my count.

ONE - QB
Tebow or no Tebow?

TWO - TE
Odd man (men) out at TE?

THREE - RB
Who do we keep at RB in addition to Ridley and Vereen?

FOUR - OL
Who do we keep beyond the top seven?

FIVE - DE
Who do we keep as backups?

SIX - DT
Who do we keep as backups?

SEVEN - LB
Who do we keep beyond the top 5?

EIGHT - DB
Do both Wilson's make it?

NINE - ST
Does Ebner make it?

TEN - P
Mesko or no Mesko?

So what you're saying is that there are questions at every position except wide receive, kicker and long snapper.

That sounds about right.

THREE - RB
Who do we keep at RB in addition to Ridley and Vereen?

1. Cut Develin
2. Retain one of Bolden/Washington
3. Four running backs total on the 53 man roster
4. Winn to Practice Squad

No Tebow

Hoomanawanui

Blount and flip a coin between Bolden and Washington

I'm leaning towards no-one and using an O-Lineman that makes the PS if he needs as the unofficial 8th guy right now. Connolly has versatility to play G and C, Cannon can play G and T, Svitek has shown in a pinch he could play G.

Buchanan, Bequette, Benard, Francis

Forston and Vallone

Beauharnais

Both Wilson's make it (although that may change depending on other team cuts)

Ebner makes it

No Mesko

I think that it's right. Curiously, the pre-season hasn't anwsered questions, except at WR and at CB. I suppose that this is good thing since these two positions were our major questions/crises coming into the offseason.

You want to only keep 7 OL on the 53 man roster? Am I understanding that correctly?

We COULD start with 7 OL's and 2 DT's. That doesn't mean that we wouldn't look to another teams to augment the roster to the more normal 8 OL's and 4 DT's.

FOUR - OL
Who do we keep beyond the top seven?
Kline, McDonald, Stankiewitch are not worthy after tonight's performance. Waiver wire for a backup offensive center/guard.

SIX - DT
Who do we keep as backups?
Forston and Vellano are the two left standing since the start of training camp. Grissom and White landed on Injured Reserve.

1. Tebow - I'm leaning towards keeping him but it's very close for me. I'd be more confident he is a keeper if they'd showcased him in additional roles. A marginal yes for me.

2. TE - Ballard, Gronk, Sudfeld and Hooman are the 4 to make the final roster.

3. I'd love Winn to make it onto the final roster but I think he just misses out. Ridley, Vereen, Blount and Washington.

4. I really can see them keeping just seven OL to start the season and keeping one or two on the PS. Svitek, Connolly and Cannon's versatility makes it just about feasible. It'll probably be 8 but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's 7. We've started with 8 every year since '09 and have better versatility this year.

5. Loved Buchanan tonight and his upside really impresses. Was disappointed by Bequette aside from one or two good plays. I think he ends up as an odd man out. Buchana, Benard, Cunningham, Francis for me (not in order).

6. Forston's a lock I think. Will they go with three with either Francis or Cunningham providing an emergency 4th guy? None of the other backups have impressed me particularly. Have to hope for a nice cut by someone.

7. Beauharnais by a mile. dominant performance last night and is already playing the role of a leader.

8. Difficult one on the two Wilson's. I'm going to say yes...just. I don't think Adrian has impressed at all but I think BB will go with his leadership ultimately. Have to say, his extended look tonight was not a good sign, particularly as he didn't do much with it. As for Tavon, I think he get's one more year.

9. Ebner. No. With me having five safeties, I can't really have Ebner too. I just don't think he offers enough to be honest. I think Harmon can provide some of his special teams assets.

10. Mesko is a yes. Whilst Allen looks to be a good punter, I haven't seen enough from Allen to justify replacing Mesko.

some excellent questions that are sufficiently different enough to warrant some thought.

just one more thought on Beauharnais. He, Fletcher and Collins, if he improves, wouldn't be a bad starting LB corps for some teams.

Manxman might have it.

1. Tebow - I'd prefer not, but I think he looked like they wanted him to last night. Maybe he gets cut and resigned in a couple weeks, as things fall into place more.

2. TE - Fells health and salary knock him off the roster. He looked beat-up last night. I'd rather have him than Hooman, but I don't think BB would. If Gronk gets PUP'd, I'd still expect to see them replace him elsewhere on the roster (OL/DT).

3. Five backs here, only because Bolden and Washington are starting on STs. George Winn gets signed by somebody else.

4. I'm with Manxman on the 7 OL. However, somebody who is on the roster Saturday will get cut to bring in some other team's OL castoff (plus 2 guys make the PS) - perhaps in a move to in-season IR.

5. Buchanan, Benard, Francis are in. Cunningham's health absent PEDs costs him a spot. Bequette goes to the PS or goes elsewhere.

6. Forston for now. Vellano gets a shot at the PS. Still shopping for help.

7. Beauharnais. Tarp goes PS and comes back for ST, perhaps the night before the first game in a PS swap for Beauharnais with fingers crossed.

8. Dowling was more expensive to cut than keep, but Tavon is much more expensive to cut, plus he plays ST, and they pay Slater a lot more to do only that. They both stay.

9. Ebner stays. He was second in ST tackles last year. Nobody else has shown that capability - although Tarp is close. Maybe he is our in-season IR candidate.

10. Mesko's consistency wins him a job. BB might be shopping for a 7th rounder in exchange for Allen today. He's gotta be better than a half dozen NFL punters.

This leaves us a hole at DT (assuming we sign OL help). Going into game day with 3 DTs max is thin, given how DLmen get rotated in today's NFL. If somebody worthwhile becomes available, Washington is the first to go. (Given the salary guarantee he gets if he makes the 53, he's the pick I'm least confident in.)

Cut tebow

Cut Fells

Cut washington and bolden. Washington seemed to go out of his way to not make this team last night including not stretching out for a pass slightly overthrown, Bolden had a fumble last week. I'm not confident with either guy right now, Id rather hold onto sims for now and look at a 4th rb after teams make cuts.

If you're going to cut Washington and Bolden (I don't think Washington gets cut), then why would you look past George Winn for your #4? The kid can run, and always adds that extra yard at the end.

Heck, I think Bolden might get cut and the Pats might keep 5 anyway.

because i think Sims is going to get claimed, and i think winn might be able to sneak through

I agree that Winn does not make it to the PS. He would probably be the best RB on the Jets right now. I'd keep him over Bolden (who would also prob be the best RB on the Jets).

IMO there's no way he makes, though the resigning thing is feasible depending on injury. I think the Media is overthinking this decision.

Ballard looks washed up/hurt to me and I don't see him getting any better

3. Five backs here, only because Bolden and Washington are starting on STs. George Winn gets signed by somebody else. I'm a fan of Winn. He really impressed me last night. I like Bolden but he hasn't shown much since his suspension

10. Mesko's consistency wins him a job. BB might be shopping for a 7th rounder in exchange for Allen today. He's gotta be better than a half dozen NFL punters. There's no reason to change Punters, too big of a risk with not that much reward. Allen should go to PS

I actually thought Fells looked decent last night for a guy who hasn't played in games yet.

If Tebow makes the team I will vomit.

Agree on the RB but Winn is that 4th RB right now. Unless some team cuts someone demonstrably better I'd rather keep him.

Guys like Sims and Winn have shown enough that I doubt they make it to the PS.
