Teams calling Pats about Gonzalez

We've seen the Pats have some really good secondary's over the years. My favorite is the late 90's secondary's with 2003 coming in a close second as they were statistically the best. Nobody was able to throw on them. Law and Poole was awesome that season.

Asante struggled badly in 2005, but he was really good in 2006 and 2007 until he fell asleep in two critical plays in the Super Bowl which fans only want to remember him by.
Who can forget the sideline INT drop guy had hands of glue all season and didn't show up in the biggest game ugh!!. 2005 the defense was sort of like this year's D.. banged up so they struggled alot plus they were older. Yeah ty Poole was probably the best 5'9 CB I've seen in the past 2 plus decades in our defense... Marcus reminds me of Ellis Hobbs. Slot CB that have to play outside becuase the depth sucks.

Agreed, team needs to start building a winning culture at some point, the time is now with Maye. Keep the vets, keep building.
Agreed there. Have to kept the leaders in place that are here. Goddy, j. Jones, dugger. These guys are needed on the field and in the locker room..

What about DK Metcalf and a second for Gonzo? Would you pull the trigger on that?
Or Tee Higgins and a second for Gonzo?

I wouldn’t shut down corners don’t walk thru the door and he has the tools to be a all time great.

Nah.. gonzo is worth his weight in gold. He can shut down a wr1 and our defense can be much better on cumulative basis because of him. We hardly hit our draft picks and you want to trade him. Just keep him and let him retire a patriot.

Yes. He's part of the present and future. Build up the defense around he and Barmore. I also really and truly hope my guy peppers gets through his situation because the defense is missing his attitude and abilities as well.

I would imagine this is just teams kicking the tires on anyone cause why not. I’m sure the Pats are doing the same.

All the WRs we missed on, we should take a huge swing at Metcalf.

That used to be what we remembered him for, well that and crying about his contract. But now thanks to his discredit and running his mouth dissing the GOAT HC we remember him as an unappreciative mealy mouthed pissant. So yeah, yay him... I guess

Ty Law, Aquib Talib, Stephon Gilmore. Having one of those caliber of CB's makes your defense so much better. Gonzo could be the next one of those types.
[Minor point: Aqib is derived from Arabic, so it doesn't follow the Q-U rule.]

New England defensive tackle Davon Godchaux is available, and the Niners know it. The Patriots also are open to moving wideouts Tyquan Thornton and Kendrick Bourne as well as safety Kyle Dugger.”

Patriots willing to trade Dugger???

That’s new.

Haven't head anything on Peppers, has anyone else?

Absolutely not.

The way the next draft is setting up I would seriously think about taking either Travis Hunter or Will Johnson with their first pick, then trade back into the first round for their left tackle, as the top LT’s in this draft don’t appear to have top 10 value, and there are a couple of guys later in the first who could be as good or better than Campbell or Banks. This would give them a pair of shutdown corners to go against the best offenses in football, as well as the Left Tackle they need.

doesn't hurt to listen... two first? sold...

if another team wants to be stupid, who are we to stand in their way?
Two firsts is what the Jets got for already busted if you were paying attention Jamal Adams. Very good, younger, and not a bad mark against him Christian Gonzalez should get a lot more than that. Or else don’t move him.

Hard to compare a cb with a ss...

adams, though, was a first team all pro in '19... 2nd team all pro in '18 with a dozen sacks on his stat sheet... gonzo? despite his talent, doesn't have that type of accomplished resume...

but the point is understood

In principal, everyone's tradeable. Consider the Plunkett trade:

Jim Plunkett for Mike Haynes
Pete Brock
Tim Fox
Ray Clayborn
Horace Ivory
Tom Owen

Now, I don't trust Wolf to cobble together a deal like that but if he could I'd take it.

Have they been staying in shape? Aren't they a bit over the hill?

After Cheifs gave up a used jock strap for pass rushing depth, I’m sure they tried their luck for Gonzalez.

If a bad team offered up two 1sts and a 2nd, the Patriots would not reject it imo. Point being, everyone sans Mahomes (maybe Allen & Burrow) could be had for the right price.
This is myopic. Most of the players in those rounds either bust or end up mediocre.

If you traded the Patriots two 1st and a 2nd, you'd be lucky to end up with a player as good as Gonzalez.
