Super Bowl Bound.. now what should the offense really focus on .

Disagree. It's Williams and Diggs for that especially against man coverage. Chism has shown a knack for exploiting zone, but not in a "first-option" way.
Diggs, yes - when he's not playing with a broken finger as someone noted. I don't see Williams in that role at all, more of a stretch the field guy.

Is diggs playing with broken finger ?

Someone posted that but I can't find my way back to it to give you a link. Maybe someone else saw it.

"Stretch the field".

That wasn't the initial observation parameter. It was stating Chism is the Patriots best WR beating press man quickly and inferring he'd be the best WR option if the Seahawks went man. You do realize in order to "stretch the field" you have to get past your man in the first move right? Beat the jam?

Look at Williams' tape. He consistently beats man off the line period. But you want to change the initial assertion and add in the route typologies. So now it's the best at beating man AND running specific routes.

Still doesn't change the disagreement. Chism's tape does NOT show he gets off the jam well against opposing CBs. Again, he is best versus zone, against CB 3/4 at this point in his development.

He'll also most likely be a healthy scratch in the SB if there are no other injuries (just like yesterday) making this discussion moot anyway.

Chism is a zone player .. against man it's gonna be pop and Williams . Folks with speed . Use diggs as a decoy. I believe hollins will also be good . But hunter and hooper will be rank useless.

Folks with speed
It's not just speed.

Beating a jam or man coverage in general is strength, leverage, quickness, and speed. And they are all applied differently and at different times depending on the player type.

TEs usually use leverage and strength more. Slots receivers quickness and speed. Outside WRs usually mix and match depending on body type and attributes.

Speed is fine, but if you just have one attribute as a player -- you're not playing much except for very specific situations.

No i get that but to beat man you would need to be quick off your routes to establish some separation so that you beat the defenders .

Always felt TE were a difficult beast for man to man unless it's red zone .

Need to figure out what the hell happened to the passing attack in the first half. Was nobody getting open..at all? If so thats gonna be a huge problem.

One thing maye can do for himself - call brady and ask how to do a damn QB sneak for a yard. made a mess in the tampa game and again yesterday.

My suspicion? A combo meal. Denver likely employing the old "flood the 5-8 yard area early" defense teams rolled out against Brady in his middle years. Doubled Diggs - the best one at beating that defense. McDaniels adjusting to deeper routes but the pass rush got home quick. And Maye being ultra cautious to prevent a turnover so anything "close" (WR/TE/RB not having AT LEAST one step) he wasn't throwing it i.e. wide open or blanketed --- no 50/50 balls.

Give it up to Pat Surtain too, he was fantastic the entire game.

Based on the last 3 games, the offense should really focus on... Everything.

Beginning with our southern-fried rookies & 2nd-year players who enjoy playing outdoors in the POs about as much as Superman enjoys wearing Kryptonite long johns.

Skippy also needs to find a way to get Kyle Williams & ESPECIALLY Treyveon Henderson more involved; MUCH MORE involved.

And for the last ****ing time: DITCH THE GUN RUNS, especially those to Stevenson.
