JPP actually plays on the string-side.

For USF, JPP plays on the strong side and Selvie on the weak side. Maybe I should have listed JPP here instead of in the weakside poll, but I think that his skills are ultimately better suited for that role, though he is flexible enough to probably play either.

I am a Dunlap fan and as I said in the weak side thread I think Hardy would be a good prize in the Second. I really think that his problems against the run will make him slide.

In a perfect world, Derrick Morgan is available. Seeing as though this draft won't occur on a perfect world, I'd take Brandon Graham. By the time all the juniors have declared, he'll drop into the second round.

There's an argument for putting JPP on the other-side, but looking at the way he gets off the snap, I'd play him weak-side all day long. That's where you want your quickest pass rusher.

I've watched a fair bit of USF, and Selvie and he swapped sides a fair old bit. But even then, you always came away far more impressed by JPP than Selvie, who is going to burn the fingers of someone.

He should have come out last year.

Whilst I love Morgan, he strikes me as being similar to Burgess in the way that he looks like he's tailor-made to play 3-4 OLB, but is really at his best with his hand-in the dirt and his back-side in the air.

I agree, and that's why I listed JPP and Austen Lane under the weakside pass rushers, even though they have the versatiity to play both sides (whereas guys like Ricky Sapp, Sergio Kindle and Von Miller seem to me to be purely weak side guys).

I love Morgan too, but I agree with you. He's better suited as a 4-3 DE. And he's almost certainly a top 15 pick, possibly top 10. I didn't include him because of those 2 reasons, though perhaps I should have.

I never get to see any of these games so this is the first time i've seen dunlap. I watched about 2/3 rds of the video on quite a few plays he appears to me to get pushed around or buried. Since i don't know if hes the only d-lineman the opposition has to worry about.

I came away with the same feeling, he didn't look very strong - but again, this is a small sample size. In this video he appears to really have a knack for chasing plays away from him. But the real test is can he be a man when the play comes at him. In this video, he struggled with disengaging and looked to crash down the line on a lot of plays regardless of where the play is going. That is probably a coaching/scheme issue as Charlie Strong likes his guys to block down. But if a kid can't read a play, then BB is not going to draft him high.

In summary if he runs well at the combine, he will get a first round grade from me (character issues aside). If he doesn't run well then BB needs to pass early because Dunlap can not play DE in a 3-4.

Another Willie is what we have been looking for since Willie left and just what this defense needs, especially if the guy is a locker room "enforcer" type. That would make my day.

If Dunlap runs well and has his weight in the 270 range, then I agree, he is the closest thing I have seen in a while to Willie.

He's not an "enforcer" type from what I've seen, but he does have the skillset that reminds me of Willie. My selection is Dunlap and he should take this poll in a runaway. I would love for him to slip early into the second round. If he does, he's our's.
