Coleman has made big strides in coming to the team late to where BB now reagards him as a crucial part of the defense. So much so that they tried to play him last week with a cast and he was unable to complete the game. Afterwards it was reported that his hand was swollen and he could not remove his jersey. My guess is that he will be out for a bit, which means we are one injury to any one of three CBs from another emergency substitution where we either cut someone else to call up Greenwood or, more likely, move a S (McCourty) to CB, in which case two positions would be weakened considerably. With that said Coleman has been on the field for 75% of the teams defensive snaps the last 3 games. Hes in all their nickel and dime packages and is their 2nd best man cover guy. Will they survive? Sure. Is their sub D and man cover D worse with him out? Absolutely.
We don't know what his injury is. What we do know is that he is wearing a cast and did not play in the 2nd 1/2 vs NYG and most likely will not play vs BUF which scores 25ppg and scored 32 on NE the last time.
I think an extended length of time he is out is a concern.

As I said the last 3 days. Collins is not playing on Monday. He's been working out a rehab place in Foxboro with specialists to regain..

his strength and weight. Team likely keeping him from the facility this week. Target is the Denver game and the team has known this for..

#Patriots learned lesson from AFC Championship Game in 2006. Where on guy got sick and contaminated the entire team, cost them a SB trip

I just read on Failbook that JC's back, baby!!!
What's amazing (and encouraging) about the Pats' injuries is that the team has a chance to be pretty healthy come playoff time with just a LITTLE bit of luck.Yep. I agree with the other poster that if R& R is what he needs then give it to him and get him right for the playoffs.
Why do I remember it being Richard Seymour?
A little luck is in order. With Bryant on the injury report with "foot" this week I went back and looked at WR recovery times for Edelman's injury:What's amazing (and encouraging) about the Pats' injuries is that the team has a chance to be pretty healthy come playoff time with just a LITTLE bit of luck.
No getting around the blow that was losing Lewis, but if the rest of the wounded heal up and ready to go by the playoffs, they'll really be in pretty good shape. Edelman's looking like the key on that front now, of course.
Obviously we all hope to see JE11 for the playoffs. But there is no guarantee that Edelman returns this year even for the playoffs. And when he does return, risk of reinjury will be a concern.Jones Fractures in the NFL
There are countless examples in the NFL of players whose Jones fractures were much worse than they initially seemed. Cowboys’ DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a similar injury last season and sat out for seven weeks. NFL receiver Donte Stallworth, who suffered a similar injury, predicts an 8-week recovery timetable.7 Receiver Michael Crabtree, now with the Oakland Raiders, was out for more than 10 weeks.8 Former Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks was out for 13 weeks.9 Rookie receiver DaVante Parker missed almost three months of play with the Miami Dolphins after undergoing surgery to correct a hardware issue he had from a fifth metatarsal fracture sustained in college. Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones suffered left foot fractures, on and off again, for three years.

Yep. Finger crossed--it's definitely within that broad range where there could be different outcomes. Since he wasn't IR'd, the Pats are hoping he'll come back and help the team this year.A little luck is in order. Hes also the one that got beat by f-ing Bryan Fletcher for the big gain. Rodney would not have given up that completion.I thought it was the backup ILB.
#52 Eric something--Alexander, maybe? He ended up playing, but was completely ineffective and ran out of gas early in the second half.
Who knows, though? Maybe there were multiple guys who spread it around. That's probably more likely.

So please Brady! I mean, please God!

He's apparantly working with rehab specialists to get back to shape, the plan is for him to be back to the Denver gameCollins misses 14 days straight w illness...bet he misses Denver as well...
