Steph Stradley: Why Pats Should Get Picks Back

If Kraft had any cajones he would take info like this and go a ransacking raid through the NFL offices in Jet land. I had hopes for him after his mea culpa speech last summer, but he seems to have gone into winter hibernation with his new g/f.

Yes, Hicks, Branch, Siliga, Ayers, Casillas, Freeney, Chris Jones, K. Martin, Blount, and Dion Lewis all worked out terribly.

They're just not shiny and expensive enough.:(

Hey guys, me and Steph tweeted back and forth a couple times a while back. We are practically best buddies. I could put a good word in.

I'll pay you cold, hard cash...name the amount...

Most people agree it's crap but the consensus is that it is back punishment for Spygate. See the ridiculous BSPN article from last year.

By most people I mean fans from other teams.

Spygate was like getting the death penalty for the crime of wearing white after labor day and there are morons out there arguing that it wasn't enough? Pretty sad to see how toxic football has become.

...and two draft picks.

This whole argument is not about right or wrong any more, it is about the power and ego of Roger...

"All hope abandon ye who enter here."... no matter what anyone says they are gone forever.

How about Suh losing repeat offender status after two years and the Patriots having it after eight.

Attention Bob Kraft !

Please say something.

We know you support the commissioner more than Patriot players & fans, but please say something.

At least mention the fact the NFL did not release the results from their PSI testing.....

Then you can say it......
We know..... We know....

You support the commissioner.

Suh has been a repeat offender but Fraudger doesn't want to see it that way. That low hit on Brady last year was just another day on the job for Suh.

You overlook the fact that one of the main advantages of drafting well is that you get players on cap friendly rookie contracts. (Consider what Malcolm Brown's value would be as a free agent, versus what he cost.) Any team that wants to "free up $$" can simply pass on their pick when they are called. Because you have more money but fewer quality players, it is a bit misleading to suggest (not necessarily intentionally) that the loss of draft picks is somehow advantageous.

I look at it as trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Without free agency the loss of a top pick would be far worse. All it does now is force the Pats to spend a little more.

If I'm the Pats, which in a very small way I am, I would use this draft pick shortened year to trade for more picks in the future and put more $$$ into FA's.

CB Josh Norman or Janoris Jenkins might look good in Pats blue.
Ditto for the two Eric safeties, Berry and Weddle.
Maybe guards Kelechi Osemele or Richie Incognito would fit.
Or DE Muhammad Wilkerson.
Same for Cordy Glenn, Russell Okung and a few other OT's
Maybe TE Antonio Gates has something left in the tank and would come here.
Doug Martin and Matt Forte are also available for RB.

This is the best shape cap wise the Pats have been in so they might want to make some FA moves.
