Aj Brown? Popular choice but I worry about him being a locker room cancer.
Alec Pierce? Could be good pickup, but is he a true #1 at this point?

Not shocking at all as he was cooked from the day he took his first snap in 2025. He contracted the Jakobi Meyers disease of not being able to shake man coverage. Got tackled immediately after every catch. Diggs did most of his damage in zone or busted coverages.

As Vrabel said, they want to pay younger guys whether it's a WR, OL, or Edge, etc.

I would be fine with trading for Moore. His trade value is low right now. But I wouldn't want him as the #1. I would want to pair him with either Brown or Pierce or someone else. Although Moore is only two seasons from an over 1,300 yard season.

Why not both? I know it would be out of character for the Patriots to do something like that, but they certainly could afford both. Of course, the biggest stumbling block is Howie Roseman and his compensation expectations. If the Pats wanted both Pierce and Brown, I certainly would throw Boutte in any trade to the Eagles.

Diggs was the engine of the offense and we saw what happened to the offense when teams took him out of the games in the playoffs . I just don’t see Pierce being able to be the engine of the offense. So if Pierce is the only move at WR I am not sure the offense is much improved. We will have the same problem when team will take him out of the game.

Not too surprising. The cap hit did not match the production. I would not be too surprised if they talk about a return on a smaller deal later if he doesn't find a robust market.

Let's go get Pierce or AJ Brown.

Diggs convinced me that he wasn't a mistake last year. His leadership in that room was big. He's going to be missed.

Pierce is a 3rd/4th WR who catches 54% of the passes thrown to him. He's Donald Hayes 2.0.

Brown is a Diva who has shown he can't handle not being "THE" guy.

Well in NE he will « THE » guy so i don’t think it will be a problem

Williams, Douglas and Chism are the obvious slot choices now but I like the idea of Mack Hollins there too almost like an additional flex TE. not every down, but certainly in some packages.

How do you know he'd be "THE" guy? The Pats offense is predicated on spreading the ball around. You have no idea if Brown could learn the offense or if he and Maye could develop a chemistry so he could be "THE" man.

Not to mention that LG and OC need to be upgraded so that Maye has time to make throws and isn't blitzed like crazy the way he was in the SB.

It's ok. The offense tbh has been middling too much . Better to shore up defense and get a solid LG . That should open up our offense . I guess this year is last for landry, Henry, onwenu and davis . They might get Henderson to shore up the edge and let Drake not be perturbed by huge offensive scores on opponent side.

They are gonna short up the defense while offense gets younger and more experienced this season. As stated I feel we would regress this year . But if we have a solid draft next 5 years would be the 3rd dynasty for us unless Maye takes a proverbial leap.

I’m gonna guess the sides couldn’t agree on a restructure and also wanted to get younger.

I don’t think this is from the legal stuff directly. They already sounded like they weren’t super concerned about it.

If he was at that AFC Championship celebration that just hit the news it’s another black mark for him. And that sounds like his style. Big question is what other players were with him. Hopefully his getting cut is a message they take to heart.

I don't think it is going to Brown and Pierce now. I think it could be DJ Moore and one of them.

Diggs had 85 catches last year, Pierce has never had more than 47. My concern is where is the volume coming from? I can see the argument for Pierce in that he suits Maye's game but we still need someone to give Maye the easy completion.

This makes me sad, but I don't fault the Pats. I just really liked how he bought in and adopted the Patriot way. I will miss his intensity. But now I am excited to meet our new #1 whoever he may be.

Me too. Diggs was a draft binky of mine and was always my favorite WR because he did not have the most physical gifts so he became great through hard work.

Brown and Pierce would be a significant upgrade over what the Pats had last year or possibly had in several decades since Moss and Welker. Just because they aren't Chase and Higgins doesn't mean it would significant upgrade the receiving corp.
