I'm really starting to think the Patriots will take Ricky Stanzi in the 4th or 5th round. They need to at least one option to be the heir to Brady and Hoyer isn't it. Hoyer makes a great back up, but I don't think they'll pass up the potential of Stanzi if he's there in the 4th or 5th. I see a lot of Brady's qualities in Stanzi as well. Stanzi leadership mirror's Brady and also the way Stanzi can just sit in the pocket and not get rattled. Stanzi is probably one of the better quarterbacks in this draft as far as his ability to sit in the pocket and make clutch plays.
Yes, indeed. Well chosen, sir.
This was my blurb on him:

Ricky Stanzi isn't quite there, yet, but he took enormous strides forward, this year. The Pocket Presence and the Mechanics still need work, but his
Processing Speed is good and getting better, as is his Decision Making and Field Vision.
Even more importantly, he is by all accounts a Gym Rat and a Tape Junkie.
This is a Scrapper with a great young tactical mind who is absolutely dedicated to his Craft. And no, I don't give a rat's ass about his arm: It's good enough to get the job done.
There are 7 QB's currently rated ahead of Stanzi, and I like him better than all of them.

Brother Tak, I believe your comparisons to
General Tom Brady have merit. Ricky Stanzi is my #1 favorite QB in the entire draft, eclipsing even my Super Binkie,
Greg McElroy.
MIND you: I believe it is FAR too early to spend heavily on Brady's replacement: He said just last Spring that he wanted to go another
10 Years. I don't presume the next minute, much less a decade...but do YOU want to bet against him??
However, spending Late Rounders ~ or nothing!! ~ on the likes of
Matt Cassell, Brian Hoyer, and Greg McElroy, developing them, and then trading them for much more than we spent, is a philosophical approach that I've been selling HARD, around here.
And investing a 4th Rounder, say, in the best Quarter Back prospect ~ for my money ~ in the entire Draft??
HELL, yeah.
