Stanley Cup - Boston Bruins vs Vancouver Canucks

Look i know we are all B's fans..but Vancouver is going to be on fire in game 5...have to weather a big ass storm if they want to win

They are too weakened to be on fire in game 5. Their only hope is that their top line can break Chara and Seidenberg ... so far they have not. They are down to 4 effective defenders and we are still 6 deep. They get the last change at home but I expect Claude to run shorter shifts using 3 lines. Claude has been mixing up the 2nd line which is confusing the Canucks. Vancouver can win of course but only by a goal and I don't see it happening.

Vancouver was hardly on fire in games 1 & 2. They capitalized on a couple of Bruins mistakes both games of which the Bruins could and probably should have won.

If Tim Thomas continues his stellar play and the Bruins continue this physical run of form they're going to monster the Canucks.

what the hell does that mean??? lmao
I honestly feel embarrassed for you if you're an adult.

Physical = they hit people, smash them into the boards etc.
run of form = they are playing with a certain style and have done so especially well for games 3 & 4.

I feel dumber for having to explain that to you.

Here is my take on game 5......

This game will be decided in the first 5 minutes of the game.....The last 2 games the bruins have physically destroyed the Canucks and they haven't been doing all their fancing skating and passing.....Everytime they touch the puck there is a bruin in their face hitting them.....They are intimidated right now as they are more of a finesse team and can't deliver the big (legal) shots back.....If this game starts out with more of the same then the B's will take the next 2 games.....IF the canucks can return to more of the form they had in games 1 and 2 where they were able to skate through the neutral zone effectively and uninhibited getting better offensive chances then they have a shot to win this game.....Plus you have the Thomas Factor and he is like the Great Wall of Thomas right now.....The B's have all the confidence and know that their physical style of play has brought them back into this series so they will continue to do this and Vancouver will not get back into the driver's seat in this series.....

My prediction.....3-1 Bruins Win and if they do this then game 6 will also be won by the B's as Vancouver will have NO confidence left....

I can tell you this about the game tonight....Vancouver, the city, has a lot of energy and emotion tied into this team. Not to suggest that Boston does not, but the streets will start filling up after 12:00 pm pst today I am sure of it.

The town is bezerk over this team. The team is gonna catch some of that energy. If Boston can "play within themselves", and continue to hit hard between the whistles, with a bit of poking and prying just before play starts (like Marchard was doing to the Sedins), just enough to get them off their game. That in my mind is going to be the winning formula.

Make no mistake, I get the part Vancouver was not on fire in the first two games, but they have the talent to explode.

Have to stay out of the box tonight. The cup is gonna be at the Gardens Monday night. We want to welcome it back to Boston after almost 40 years. That's a long time for a hockey town like Boston and a hockey area like New England area to wait. They deserve the Stanley Cup.

Gotta play with some aggresive control tonight...

next time try saying physical style of play then. you either are on some very hard drugs or your not taking anything. maybe thats your problem? maybe your bi polar? or maybe you are trying really hard to impress people and make friends? if thats the case get a life. thanks for entertaining me.

Not to state the obvious but it's even more true tonight. The team that scores first is going to win this game. That's even more true if it's an early goal. If the Bruins get an early one the air is going to leave that building quickly and the fans are going to turn on Luongo and the Canucks quickly. Conversely if they score quickly it's faith renewed and the B's could be in trouble.

A scoreless first period is a win for the Bruins.

If I could write the perfect script it would be Marchand scoring the winning goal late. That would rip the heart out of that team and their Montreal West fans. If it was 1-0 and they again couldn't get one by Thomas that would also be fine by me.

In Boston the defense and forwards did a much better job of controlling their blue line in regards to moving the puck up ice and also cutting off Vancouver from moving into the offensive end. That needs to continue so they can control the game and pace. No turnovers leaving the zone and no free space coming into it.

At the other end continue to pound their defense and pepper Luongo. Ballard is a turnover waiting to happen.

great win by the Bruins and now 2-2 - game 5 is crucial, no doubt

Me too. He'll concede 15 goals and be pulled after the second period.

On a serious note, let's go Bruins. Big game tonight in the context of the series. A win in Vancouver would be deflating for the team and their supporters. Hit em hard and hit em early.

should have been a goal...dam

vancouver getting some good looks

Well their PP blows yet again...god..

The Canucks are taking a faux physical approach to this game. Good start by the Bruins. Would be nice to pinch a goal soon.

Luongo making amazing saves tonight..told you guys he was going to be on fire tonight

0/3 already on PP all they needed was one.....ugh

B2M...you are right, Luongo having a decent game...looks like they are living/dying by the Sedins tonight...
