• Salary cap: 65.5% of designated gross revenues
• Unrestricted free agents: Must have four or more accrued seasons
• Restricted free agents: Must have three accrued seasons
• Franchise players: Each club may designated one
• Transition players: Each club may designate one in lieu of a franchise player
• Salary bonus proration: Maximum of five years
• Unrestricted free agent signing restrictions: None
• Benefits: Second career savings plan, supplemental disability, player annuity program, severance pay plan, tuition assistance plan
• Minimum salaries: In effect

2006
• Salary cap: 64.5% of designated gross revenues
• Unrestricted free agents: Must have four or more accrued seasons
• Restricted free agents: Must have three accrued seasons
• Franchise players: Each club may designated one
• Transition players: Each club may designate one in lieu of a franchise player
• Salary bonus proration: Maximum of four years
• Unrestricted free agent signing restrictions: None
• Benefits: Second career savings plan, supplemental disability, player annuity program, severance pay plan, tuition assistance plan
• Minimum salaries: In effect with increase of $5,000 over 2005

2007
• Salary cap: None
• Unrestricted free agents: Must have six or more accrued seasons
• Restricted free agents: Must have three, four or five accrued seasons
• Franchise players: Each club may designated one
• Transition players: Each club may designate one in addition to a franchise player
• Salary bonus proration: None
• Unrestricted free agent signing restrictions: Final eight teams from 2006 have restricted ability to sign unrestricted free agents
• Benefits: None (teams no longer contribute to second career savings plan, supplemental disability, player annuity program, severance pay plan, tuition assistance plan)
• Minimum salaries: In effect; same as 2006

2008

* I read at CBSportsline that the NFL says the sides are meeting again Sunday. The NFLPA seems to be unaware of that, but it may have changed. Even though they didn't agree on an extension, this year really has about a 10 mill increase in da cap and isn't much different than any other year except in how planning and deals are done for future years. They really could get a deal done before March of next year and things won't be that different. On one hand I think they'll realize they're better off all around with a deal. On the other, money makes people do wierd things.

An additional category and a minor correction:

2005 and 2006 - Minimum Team Salary Total: 58% of designated gross revenues
2007 - Minimum Team Salary Total: NONE

note: that's an interesting down side to the uncapped year. Players may get more money from the big spending clubs but get LESS from the small market teams. Interesting.

it should read:
Transition players: Each club may designate one transition player; each club may also designate a second transition player in lieu of designating a franchise player
