Player Signing Slater is back!!!!

With the loss of some long time coaching, the likely loss of Hightower, and the possible loss of White, keeping a captain and locker room leader around is a good move.

It amazes me how people really believe Slater makes a difference. I'm open to specific examples of him making big plays in big games. I can't think of one. He fell on a blocked punt for a TD in a week 4 game once... the only score of his entire career. He recovered a fumble once in a 33-0 blowout. He has 3 lost fumbles on KO returns.

$2.6 mil for locker room leadership?? So far we're $13-15 mil for locker room guys who won't help you on the field.

You don’t remember SB 51 or SB 53? The Falcons got no field position in the 2nd half and the Rams all game because Slater was tackling them deep. Look at the kickoff after the Patriots tied the Falcons game at 28 — see where the Falcons got the ball with 1 minute left and timeouts to spare. Someone who can fly down the field and tackle has a ton of value.

Whether he’s still that guy is an open question. But at his peak, he was that guy and was worth 1.25% of the team’s cap space.

regular core ST price . unfortunately seems like not cap friendly deal
BUT
nice to roll Awww yeah for another yr

He's a troll and close to getting banned permanently with all his negative posts....adds nothing to this forum other than trolling the Patriots and BB.

Crawhammer was up there with DKF and NEM with the repetitive negative stuff and then he disappeared. He returned recently and was ok for a while but has slipped back into his old habits.

Swing the Banhammer, sista!

I'd rather have Karras than Slater & DMac. The latter 2 are great guys, and have been great Pats. But at this point, they're not giving much on the field that can't be replicated by anyone. Karras was far better than Onwenu last year (at LG), and we could use Onwenu at RT and have the best starting line possible. But now we're thinner and only have Ferentz as our backup C/G. We'll see where the rest of the money goes, but it's going quick.

Might be less than that if this contract qualifies for the vet discount - White got it last year. reduces the CAP hit.

Our Special Olympics Teams sucked last season with him; it can suck next season without him too.

Waste of ****ing money; but Little Billy loves his pets, so…

Will be 37 in September, surprised he got a fully guaranteed deal. Effectively guarantees his roster spot.

this off-season is slowly becoming a joke...Slater, mccourty, Jackson gone....
