Hope he'll stick around in another capacity...think he remains in the community though.....maybe something like Easterby's role here a few years ago....
 
When people say that Bill didn't show favorites I point them to Slater. An incredibly overrated and overpaid player who had the good fortune to be Jackie's kid. That made him an obvious favorite with Bill and Bob.
What is with this forum openly trashing past players and coaches who were part of our dynasty? Is this common for Patriots fans or just this forum?

Just the type of thing we need around the team.
Before he turned into a snake I thought Easterby did some good. Think the role would be valuable if properly filled. Seemed to me Easterby got infected by hubris and pride, and then it became about him and his ambitions not the team. At least that’s my impression from the outside looking in. Don’t think Slater would fall into that trap. He could be a good influence on kids like Baker who need better role models.
 
It's part of the cleaning, getting rid of the old culture.

Retirement can be frustrating, I hope Slater pursue a coaching career by his own ways if he wants that.
