Since day 1 at Nickerson Field, baby, which BTW is about 1/2 mile from where I was living then. I was in grade school.

Seeing how I'm only 16 years old, the story sounds bandwagonish, but oh well. If folks wanna question my loyalty then so be it, I can care less.

I grew up in South Florida all my life. However, my family were all from up north. My mom, being full blooded Irish, was from the area of southie. My dad was from Newton Mass. So, they eventually moved down here in 82' was it? for a radio station job. Well, I was born in South Florida, so I guess for most of my real young days, I said I liked the Dolphins. Well, to tell you the truth, I never cared about football. I was the kind of kid who stayed inside all my time. I did play flag football, but I hated it because it was to boring for me so I quit. Well, fast forward to about 2001, I'm at my uncles. Now let me tell ya, this guy was from Newton as well and this guy is a FREAK when it comes to the Patriots. I mean, every inch of this mans house was Patriots. EVERYTHING.

So, one day we're watching the Patriots against the Dolphins. He's talking to me, he's trying to bribe me into becoming a Patriots fan. So, I eventually bit, and there that night, along with a Patriots victory, it was my first day of being a Patriots fan. What I learned however, football was an addicting game. Weekend by weekend, I became hooked untill I myself became a fanatic. I remember watching the super bowl with my pops, and I remember the moment perfectly. There it is, Adam's all lined up, the game is right hear. My house was dead quiet, you could hear a pin drop. And I'll never forget watching that ball sail through the up rights, right as it did my father and I jumped up screaming and hugging. That was, WITHOUT a doubt, the happiest sports moment I've ever had watching sports. Eventually as time wore on, my dad talked me back into playing football. And now I played tackle football. I loved it, I loved the phsyical side of the game, I loved hitting people and I loved playing defense.

As time went on, I've watched just about every single Patriot game since, got hooked on playing football, and now play for my highschool. I also eventually got hooked on all the other Boston sports. Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics. Although I must say, I REALLY got hooked with the Sox starting around the time my Pats addiction began. And ever since last season, my addiction with the Celtics has really turned on. Really it's remarkable how it turned me into a jock of sorts and completely changed me. I thank god it did.

Well, that's my story... =)

nice story too...beautiful to listen all the various stories we have...and why and when we became Patriots Fans !

Since the start....1960...a bit younger than NEM...who was all over the Pats early...but..I loved the AFL and the Pats..Bfefore them, it was teh BRowns..Juimmy BRown...and the Clots..the Unitas to Berry..Moore and company..COLTS!!! The Sherman Plunkett...Big Daddy Lipscomb..Colts!!
ANd I hated the Giants...!! SOrt of afded with teh Patriots a bit at the worst times..more in the 90s...early 70s...etc etc..but..was a true fan for the long haul. Hard to be a big fan of a team that is clueless...although, ther ewas always something haappening with the team..in a weird way..ONLY a franchise such as the Pats has endured oddness in every way!!! ANd yet look at it now??? I think this perspective helps me appreciate what this management has done over the past 5 years!!! If you haven't experienced the ups and downs and ins and outs of the team..you just do NOT UNDERSTAND!!

Had season tickets that year, but we couldn't get down to Foxboro from western Mass., the conditions were too bad. Ugh.

I was born in Providence, RI in the summer of 1959. My love of sports began in 1965 when I was 6 years old, started 1st grade(no K then), and heard older kids talking about the REDSOX & PATRIOTS.

It was real hard to be a Patriots fan then if you lived south or west of Boston. Apologies to fans who lived north then...I have no memory of how it was for you.

The Patriots were broadcasted only for away games (home games were never sold out). Even some away games were not shown sometimes because many, especially Italian-Americans where I grew up, were HUGE NY GIANTS FANS.

The NY GIANTS were a bigger draw on national TV than the Patriots...if you could get decent reception outside of Boston wuth UHF 56 or VHF 4, Then you could watch a snow game...all games outside the good reception area of metropolitan Boston were snow games...LOL.

So, even though i was a fan...mostly through the Providence Evening Bulletin & Providence Morning Journal. A GOLDEN NUGGET WAS A BOSTON PAPER...THE GLOBE OR THE HERALD (way better then).

So I have no memory of these fields
Even though I was a fan.
Nickerson Field 1960-1962
Fenway Park 1963-1968
Alumni Stadium 1969
Harvard Stadium 1970

Great Post Topic.

i can imagine. it surely was a very bad day for weather conditions but an 'historic game' for sure.

Since the early 70's.

My first game was in the "new" stadium and I don't remember the date but I think it was a preseason game and George Blanda kicked a game-tying or winning FG. That was a LONG time ago. I'm going to have to research the date, but I liked them before going to the game, but I don't remember them playing anywhere but Foxboro, so I must date back to the beginning of the 70's.

Since the late seventies -

I was in some "olympic" type competition with area grade schools. I was a finalist in the high hurdles....anyway, freak accident happened and I broke my ankle in two places. Had a leg-long cast for a month (and a knee high cast for an additional month). Spent a lot of time at home watching TV. Kept turning the dial (no remotes back then! LOL!) and came upon a Patriots game. Sat back and watched the entire thing. Taught myself the game, the rules.....and developed a mad crush on Russ Francis.

I've been a Pats fans since 1977 (the first game I can remember). I was Born in Boston, MA. I have lived all across this great country as well as over seas (military Brat). But my heart has been with the New England teams. Believe me in the late 70's to even the late 80's it was hard to stay up to date with the PAts and other New England team. But when football season came around, no matter where I was my father and I and one of my youner brothers always found away to keep up with the Pats. (unfortunately) my younger brother well hell all of my brothers (3 of them) have strayed from the straight and narrow path to becoame Dolphin fan, Giant fan, and Eagle fan. It's was hard at times to deal with them, but now times are sooo sweet. So there's my story. I know some of my post are not always received with a standing ovation but hey that's who I am. A die hard Pats fan with an opinion .
GO Pats!

Since the mid 1960's.Babe Parilli's Dad was my barber when I was a kid and He introduced Me to Charlie Long,Jon Morris,Babe, Gino,Nick and Tony Romeo,Larry Garron and Art Graham.
I was hooked ever since.I've had season tickets since 1970 at Harvard Stadium. It's been a wild ride but the Championships make it all worthwhile.
