The "Final" 53 Man Roster

The final roster is much more the Game 2 roster than yesterday's "final" roster. I had thought that the roster would be a 51 man roster, as someone else had posted. When the actual roster came out, with the obvious holes still there, then it bacame clear that only 49 or 50 may actually be on the roster by the time we play Game 2.

1) Waters has already been signed.

2) I expect to see Crumpler back (or another TE).

3) I expect to see Morris back (or another ST running back).

4) I expect to see an upgrade at safety.
==============================

IMHO, the 53 man roster was light 2-3 players on offense: a 9th OL, a 5th RB and a 3rd TE.

5) A second OL wouldn't surprise me if Wendell is going to the IR.

I agree with 1 and 2. I dont see Morris coming back, but Faulk is waiting in the wings on pup.

I wouldn't be surprised by a safety brought in but I knida feel like BB is OK with what he has and we are going to be surprised, much like 2003.

Its rare that we keep 5 RBs. I think last year was the only time.

We have cut Maneri to sign Waters (and OL for an OL).

We have cut Dearth to sign Aiken (a LS for a LS).

Some of the players who couldn't make our 53 have made other 53 man rosters. This is NOT a negative.

We have added some players to our Practice Squad, who anyone can take at anytime.

One bottom line of the last 2 days is that some binkies were cut: Yeatman, Smith and Maneri. I'm not sure why this is a surprise at all. Other binkies made the 53: Tarp, Ihedigbo, and Molden.

My thoughts exactly, hahaha. Ihedigbo was my anti-binky; I was actively hoping that he wouldn't make the team, because his preseason play at safety just scared me. Hopefully he never takes the field in a non-ST situation here.

With a name like Ihedigbo, how can he NOT be a binky? My next pick of the fantasy draft is Idigyourmomma, championship!

I had Dig because I'm from Northampton, but I will admit that he's an awful safety.

He looked good tackling. Coverage not so much.

Re: The "Final" 53 Man Roster

We agree on needing Crumpler back.
Do you agree that we need a 9th OL, with Maneri gone?
I would lose Tarp and Ihedigbo. Who are your choices to get the 2 required roster spots?

Do you think that Belichick is fine with Barrett and Brown as our #2 and #3 safeties, or do you think that Darling is expected to play some safety? If Dowling's future is at safety, I also could see Belichick standing pat at safety.

If Dowling's future is likely at safety, then I could see Molden sticking as a developmental defensive back. We've certainly done that in the past.
