Signing Sheard would be a coup. He's a very good, versatile player.

I like that the Patriots still have positional flexibility at the forefront of their mind. Having players who can play multiple roles is a very good thing to have.

Good rookie season and then hasn't done much in the three years since. Injuries may have been an issue. Like others have said, probably a rotational guy. If he can take some stress of Ninko could be a good move for the right (i.e., low) price.
