Just wondering how everyone feels about the current #3 receiver situation. Ideally, we would want Dobson on the field across Edelman and Amendola. However, let's assume for now he can't play Sunday.

Should we continue to roll with KT as the #3, or give Collie the opportunity?

Patriot snaps vs. Colts

TE Michael Hoomanawanui -- 73 of 73
WR Julian Edelman - 68 of 73
WR Danny Amendola -- 40 of 73
WR Kenbrell Thompkins -- 38 of 73
FB James Develin -- 33 of 73
TE Matthew Mulligan -- 33 of 73
RB LeGarrette Blount -- 26 of 73
RB Shane Vereen -- 24 of 73
RB Stevan Ridley -- 23 of 73
WR Matthew Slater -- 4 of 73
WR Austin Collie -- 2 of 73
RB Brandon Bolden -- 1 of 73

I was a big fan of KT back in TC and towards the beginning of the season. However, he hasn't been the same since the hip injury. In only 2 snaps, Collie managed to run a correct route, get open, and catch a pass, something KT hasn't done successfully since the injury. With Harris out, the Broncos will have vulnerable CBs on the field. All Brady needs are WRs to get open and hold on to the ball.

If Thompkins and Dobson are out, yes. Brady has great numbers against Del Rio, I think they'll be throwing the ball more this week.

I agree, Thomkins hasn't settled down again since his injury. I'd split snaps.

Might not have a choice. Did KT re enter the game? My vote is yes btw, Collie seems to come up with big time catches the rare times he hits the field.

If Thompson is healthy, I see no reason having Collie replace him in his role as downfield receiving threat.

Collie is our emergency #5 WR. The only reason he is on the team is that Boyce is on IR.

I guess Collie could get more reps if we run some 4 receiver sets.

Load Dobson up on pain killers and let him burn them deep a couple times.

Then use collie. We are gonna need him and KT hasn't don't anything since the Denver game.

No matter what happens next week, I hope Pats fans come to appreciate Collie for what he's done in this team.

Rides the bench, shows up when needed, makes big first down, disappears until next time. Pretty hard to do.

I want to see him used more now. Gonna need him. Hopefully him, amendola and Edelman are enough to put up 2 great games.

BB seems like the type that doesn't consider the fan expertise. Someone tell him that the board thinks Austin is being underutilized. (lol)

I expect him to play with Dobson and thompkins likely out. My main concern is if he gets knocked out , who will replace him

Receivers in BB's offense are required to block.

KT > Collie probably.

Good post. Its very hard to make plays. Making them off the bench the way he has????

I hate to be crass but Austin Collie is unconscious in the clutch.

Couldn't that be said about anyone? Why single Collie out? We would be screwed if any number of players got hurt.

I think the concern is that Thompkins isn't really acting like much of a downfield threat, nor is he contributing much of anything whatsoever.

Collie is our emergency #5 WR. The only reason he is on the team is that Boyce is on IR.

While obviously true, Collie would jump to our WR3 if:

--Dobson/Thompkins aren't able to go

--You believe that we'll be attacking more underneath routes/YACs, etc

--The assumption that Thompkins isn't going to produce, or that Collie would be able to produce more effectively

For what it's worth, it's possible that we could be having the exact same conversation about his potential to replace Boyce also, since Boyce doesn't exactly scream of a veteran presence who can produce all that much.

Despite the hope that our young WRs can make the 2nd year leap, I believe that we should add another reasonable option whether Edelman stays or not.

KT got a concussion too?

Man, this is insane, it's too much concussions this season, what did they put on the helmets, lead?

Yeah, he left and never returned due to taking a blow to the head.

Thompkins has sucked for quite some time now, even when he's not injuring himself.
The head start he had in TC due to his age has now disappeared, and if he's on the 53
by Opening Day next season, then the WR position will not be as strong as it needs to be.

Hey, at least he'll have the Saints game to tell his grandchildren.

He moves around pretty well but it seems like he's fighting the ball sometimes. If Ben Watson had frying pans for hands, maybe KT has boxing gloves for hands.

Seems like a nice guy and a great story, but yeah, I'd rather see Collie on the field.

Maybe if he gets more familiar with the playbook. Appently the offense is so complicated, it's better to be a smart guy with limited athletic ability than an average WR with great athletic ability. Not saying that KT is the latter.
