Shanahan says no to Jets

Shanahan's one hell of a coach jets just missed out big imo not sure why your so happy.

Hey may "own" Belichick, but against others he has been garbage recently.

Over the last three years he is Eric Mangini Part Two. Hardass who thinks everything he does is correct and doesn't need help from anyone and both fieleded garbage defenses they ignored and catered to every waking need of their Quarterback.

Shanahan last three years: 24-24

10 years since Elway retired / Davis injuried:

1-4 Postseason Record
1 Division Championship
24-24 last three years
0-4 to finish 2008 season when he needed 1 win to win his division.

He is a Fraud.

Too bad Marty won't consider coming in for a visit because he doesn't want to compete against his son (Brian Schottenheimer). Thanks to Brain we will now have to get yet another unproven coach. Here's to hoping its Spagnuolo.

Stopped reading after that comment.

Well..maybe you are right .but i dont think he is a fraud. BB builds up every opponent he faces but shanahan and martz are two people he respects the most for their abilities and i tend to trust BB's judgement. I maybe in the minority but i wouldnt be as worried about cowher as about shanahan.Cowher is the same conservative coach who was so predictable. He finally won the SB when he let wisenhunt open it up and pass on first down for a change.
I think Marty would be as much a pain for the pats because he can get a team to a playoffs consistently. What is more funny is this
EDIT:You put down shanahan's stats for the past 10 yrs. Do you know the stats for favre in the last 7 yrs and his post season record since holmgren went away ?
Meanwhile, new details of the Jets' quick and ill-fated courtship of Cowher have come to light. He had agreed Tuesday to speak with the Jets about their vacancy, but he withdrew his name from consideration several hours later because, in part, he wasn't able to speak directly with owner Woody Johnson, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

"Bill Cowher easily could've been enticed to coach if Woody Johnson would've taken a sit-down meeting with him," the person said. "Cowher's camp was told that Woody was out of the country and couldn't have a sit-down with him."

Chances are, it wouldn't have changed the outcome, according to a person close to Cowher, but the "Where's Woody?" routine apparently was the last straw for the former Steelers coach.
Strange owner. At least i give the browns owner credit for at least being active and trying hard.Jets ownership is concerned about favre coming back more than a long term plan.

I think Shanahan was the one that caught a break in this. Would in their right mind would want to coach THAT trainwreck of a team?
