Seymour OUT

I think Slater should have returned all 2nd half KO vs. the Cards last week. The only way to get more comfy back there is to practice and to return in difficult conditions (without the game on the line).

so you mean... both KOs? lol

Can never understand the negativity about Seymour, he has been a beast all season... 8 sacks, very consistent against the run and continually locks up 2 blockers.. both he and AD out are very significant losses.. can we still win?? Yes, but I hope he is back for the tournament.

I'm with you, I love Big Sey. I mean all that he's accomplished in his career and people let their frustration come out whenever he's hurt or not playing like "superman" in their mind. The guy is a legitimate HOF player, he's a 3-time SB champion, only the 5th Pats player to make 5 consecutive pro-bowls (the others are Hannah, Haynes, Tippett and Coates) and a 3-time first team all-pro. He's also blocked 5 FG's in his career, one very important one as well in a 17-14 win over the Titans in the 2003 Divisional playoffs. He's a perfect fit for the Patriots style 3-4 and when he's out teams consistently are able to run to his side. Also, on the injury front he's played in 111 games and started 105, here's the breakdown from nfl.com:

Richard Seymour: Career Stats

Yr Team G
2008 New England Patriots 15
2007 New England Patriots 9
2006 New England Patriots 16

2003 New England Patriots 15
2002 New England Patriots 16

And the best Patriots lineman since my man Houston Antwine.

Of course he played mostly in the AFL, but six consecutive Pro Bowls is nothing to sneeze at.

*Amazingly, still not in the Patriots Hall of Fame*

Seriously, all your scouting and coaching are intended to hopefully produce one or two players like Seymour in a decade. People want to throw away special players assuming they'll just pick one up in the draft.

All you need is a high pick, right?

Worked out for the Detroit Lions, right?
