I'm not saying Brady did it - read on.

By the time of the 2015 AFC Championship, Goodell on discipline was all over the place but it was more Axman than blind eye. So what do you do?

Do you play Russian Roulette and hope you just get a fine? Not after BountyGate. Remember there was talk he might suspend Brady and keep him from playing in the SB. There was every incentive to kick the can into next season.

Confession is good for the soul and often mitigates a penalty. The message to the players is it's too risky to try that with Goodell.

Doesn't matter, Goodell does whatever he wants. Remember though, he's a ****ing liar but he's right about the Patriots cheating. Yep he is! Don't question it. I can't believe he lied about Ray Rice but, eh it's only a one time thing I'm sure he's right about the Patriots.

It doesn't matter if a player confesses or not. Goodell will make up his mind and deliver his punishment. Then he'll hear the appeal, decide he did a great job and uphold the penalty.

During bountygate, there was talk that if the Saints cooperated fully, their penalties would be reduced. They did and that never happened.

The Chiefs cooperated fully in the tampering investigation and they're still out 2 draft picks. $40k might have been taken away from the total fine, but nothing significant.

As an organization, the Patriots cooperated fully with the deflategate sham, to the point where the Wells-Pash report (which was slanted against the Patriots in just about every way) stated the team and coaches did nothing wrong and they lost $1 million and a #1 pick.

The next team or player who gets accused of something should tell the NFL investigators to get lost. The truth doesn't make any difference to those people, so how can it get worse.
