Adalius Thomas and Vince Wilfork.
Wilfork is not even close to Williams and likely never will be. IMO, only Ted Washington comes close to him.
I like Thomas. Better than Merriman? Nah, at least not from a talent level.

Wilfork is not even close to Williams? You need to understand the type of 3-4 the Chargers employ is different than NE's, and they have slightly different roles.
What about Merriroid?
It was off topic, I know. I read this thread, but none of specifics really mattered.
For you:
I'm looking forward to seeing Welker burn it up this year! Ya got yerselves and little Eric Parker. Wooohoo! (Welker was drafted by the Chargers and got him stolen from Miami when they tried slipping him to a practice squad though waivers. He's a heck of a return man, but it remains to be seen if he can become the 3rd receiver...)
Hi All
Just here to keep it real. Yes, we released Rodney. Junior too. Oh, and Reche and Welker and... anyone else? Britt?
I just got a response from Kiszla via e-mail. The Chargers fan MADE IT UP.
Win something and then you earn respect. San Diego is absolutely nothing and will remain so. Merriman was a ****y in Maryland and he is in San Diego. You guys finish behind Denver in the AFCW this year anyhow.
LT will get a torn ACL and never be the same.
Goodnight.
WHo gives a crap? Williams would eat vince for lunch..literally!
I'd bet money that Wilfork would admit he isn't the player williams is.
Merriman? Don't like the dude, but he is talented. I'll give the edge to Thomas because of his versatility, but Merriman could be as versatile, but is so good at what he does, it doesn't come into play in the chargers scheme?
JMHO
However week 2 shakes out, trust me we're not looking at it like it's our SB. No, like I said. We're just hoping we have to go through NE to get there. That would be ideal. But for the record? We'll whoop you in week 2 too. Write it down. Hell, consider it your super bowl.

Now we're quibbling. The point is we didn't feel like any of those guys were good enough to retain.first they didn't release Reche, he was a free agent who they didn't resign. Second, from what I understand the Dolphins signed Welker off the Chargers practice squad.
Ya see, this is the point I'm here to emphasize. You DID NOT beat us. You won the game. But you were pretty damn far from beating us on the field. You can look at it anyway you want. Again, what we see is that we OWNED both lines of scrimmage last game. That tends to matter in any game you play. I hope NE and it's fans continue to overlook that little fact in the future. So let me get this straight: Beating you on the field isn't enough, and essentially, no one player is enough, and by the way, no six or eight players improvement, at least 3 of them hefty upgrades, will be enough. It's about the "team", but the most remarked on team ethic in the league, NE's, won't "be enough," and if it's about coaching, the guaranteed HOF coach at NE isn't enough. No, it's all about the team, something NE doesn't understand "enough"?
When measured against the self-perpetuating delusion of Chargers' fans, at least.
Hey, lots of "ifs" and "hopes." Yeah, you want to be where we've been. Good luck.
Since no one receiver is ever enough, it's a good thing you guys never bothered getting one.
Since no one QB isn't enough, it's a good thing you don't have to bother with Tom Brady there, since Philip Rivers is just as significant.
You got some talent there, fella, but, well, to coin a phrase, not enough. And best of luck with Norv.

you've got to be kidding me lol.be careful your entering aqua4ever territoryYa see, this is the point I'm here to emphasize. You DID NOT beat us. You won the game. The team that controls the line of scrimmage controls the game. Think about it. Are you here to assert that NE was in control of the game? And I thought Jets fans were dense. The Patriots won the game, but they DID NOT BEAT the Chargers. Wow, what color is the sky in your world. Keep thinking the way you are if it helps you sleep at night................
im here to assert the patriots won the game thats all that matters lol .the pats sent you and the chargers home crying lol .its about winning not how many pro bowl players you have the patriots have been making a habbit of beating teams that are supposed to have more talent since 2001.havent you been watching ?if you have you should have learned something by now.The team that controls the line of scrimmage controls the game. Think about it. Are you here to assert that NE was in control of the game?
Now we're quibbling. The point is we didn't feel like any of those guys were good enough to retain.
Hmm... If someone is on your practice squad they're not good enough to be on the team. What's so hard to understand about that?So because Reche signed elsewhere, and Welker was stolen off the practice squad it means the Chargers didn't care about retaining them? So, I guess that means every free agent who's left the chargers wasn't wanted by the team, and every player signed off their practice squad wasn't wanted by the team?
Some of you Charger fans make me laugh when you say things like "We let Reche go" or "The Chargers cut Reche" since the Chargers didn't do either, he was simply at the end of his contract, and signed with NE as a free agent....learn the difference. Oh, and if you remember at the time Marty said they would like him back on the team, so your a little off in thinking the Chargers didn't want Reche anymore.
