Semi-OT: Giants were seemingly very interested in moving up in the Draft. Potentially for Maye.

Not trying to troll here- but am I missing something? Fans/media on the Twitter machine played these clips out like NYG is really high on Drake Maye… likely wanted to take him at 3… pats fans should all feel really good about this video clip… Drake nailed the interview….

I just hear him and Daboll going through some terminology and in the end Drake gets that Linda and Rita are left and right… like what about these clips tells us anything about Drake’s ability to process? I get they played the clip of Schoen wanting to talk to the Pats about trading to 3… but that could’ve been as much about Jayden as Drake… I don’t think by the combine the Commanders were de facto sold on JD… am I missing something? Or are people just seeing what they want to see here? They showed interviews with MHJ, Rome, and Nabers… like why are we sure they were interested in Drake? (Which I want to believe btw)

Did I miss what was happening in the Drake interview?
Motivated perception is a phenomenon in which people see what they want to see.

A coping mechanism is a psychological strategy or adaptation that a person uses to manage stress and/or trauma and to decrease tension and anxiety. It can be based on conscious or unconscious choice and can be an internal or external process. Coping mechanisms can enhance control over behavior, give psychological comfort, and help maintain emotional well-being.

I like what we have seen so far, and I would not want a do over.

Maybe Maye doesn’t make it to three in a do over.
Agreed. The consensus on him from kiper NFL GMs and draft people all in the know was that he was thr best QB prospect in the draft. Minnesota wanted him, of course the giants did as well and others. Wolf held firm and we are lucky to have him.

I firmly believe Maye is the week 1 starter
he is simply head and shoulders better than the other QB's on the team

I am not so sure about this; BB seemed to favor J.J. McCarthy. This is not to say that BB was the greatest QB evaluator out there, but he is better than me. Anyway are going to find who was right out soon enough...

Getting back on topic, do we know what the Giants were offering? I assume it was their 6th plus, say a second or a third. I would have made that trade and taken JJ or trade down again and take JJ if possible plus a big galoot at LT. The possibilities are endless and are fuel for obnoxious second guessers like myself if Maye does not work out.

We know he's NOT! and I stopped reading right there...I would have taken Maye our JJ McCarthy too.

Maye and our Receivers are the only reason why I'm Watching the Preseason games.

Yeah, I think we will all be watching the QB/WR play very carefully. I suspect, or hope, that the combination of Pop Douglas and Bake the Touchdown Maker will finally give our QBs someone to throw to. Who the third WR will be is a mystery right now; I am very interested to see if Polk can get open. I was hoping to watch him one-on-one at Camp, but I am disabled and may not be able to make it. The Joint Practice against the Eagles will be very interesting. If I cannot see him in camp, then maybe he will get a chance in the pre-season, but you get a lot more looks in camp. Last year it was easy to see that Douglas was the best receiver in camp; this year is going to be interesting.

I do hope we get to see Milton in the preseason, but it may not happen, alas.

I hope everything goes well with you Fred post more.

He has had his ups and downs. He did pick Brady after all. And I still think that Mac is a good QB, but he was in an impossible situation. BB really sucked at picking WRs, but it OK picking QBs
