Semi-OT: Atlanta has fired HC Dan Quinn and GM Tom Dimitroff

cant... have you seen that contract? eek
If they get a top pick, they'll get rid of him via trade or release him and take the hit.

That's a pretty big acceleration for a team without a lot of wiggle room... But hey, they want to drop Matt Ryan, be good for us... He'd find his way to SF most likely...

Before the Braves got good and won a WS, the saying in Atlanta was `Go Braves and take the Falcons with you`

The Falcons are REALLY embracing the Suck

You absolutely love to see it

Falcons 2020 salary cap #'s for Ryan $18.9 million + Jones $20.4 million
Falcons 2021 salary cap #'s for Ryan $40.9 million + Jones $23 million

Is pretty much all you need to know about how this team was built and managed..

Jon Baldwin had the talent, he needed a place that was going to instill discipline and hard work. Did he start with Todd Haley and then later Romeo? He did not get that playing for the Chiefs with Cassel throwing to him. Additionally, that wrist injury completely derailed his growth.
Your landing spot in the NFL can make or break you. For example, if the Jets gets Trevor Lawrence, he will become a wreck. That does not mean he was not good.
Lol Baldwin was flat out bad. Every in the NFL has some amount of talent. He just didn’t have anywhere near enough.

Shows that very few teams are looking for long term success. They put all their eggs in the 2016 basket and had they not blown the lead, everyone would’ve been happy.

BB’s economics & looking ahead are not praised enough.

He probably would of gotten a few more grace years if they won LI.

How about the New York suckage? Two teams with a combined record of 0-10.

Sing along everyone...

Start spreading the news
They're losing today
I don't want a part of it
New York, New York

Curse of the BBino.

Matty P can't be too far behind.
I think only the bye week prevented Matty and Bob from getting 2 to the head.

The only way to save Joe Judge is for the Giants to go 0 - 16 and take Lawrence. Surely he would not be fired after delivering Lawrence on a silver platter. Daniel Jones stinks.

beyond cringe

If I were them, I’d trade Ryan, go for the tank, and aim for Lawrence.

Owners have different priorities. Less secure owners worry more about selling tickets than wins and too often operate under the star system to create revenue. Give the fans a big name to cheer for and they will buy seasons tickets, spend $50 to park, and drink $11 beers.
Atlanta with their $22 million WR and Arizona with their half decade reluctance to part ways with their overpaid, aging signature player, Larry Fitzgerald are 2 of the best examples of teams that value the star system above all else.

Note: I have a personal animosity for teams that pay outrageous wages to pass catchers who might average 6 touches per game in a good year.

Kraft might have been that type of owner if BB hadn’t come along and adamantly stuck with Brady after Bledsoe became healthy.
Remember, $100 million contract recently gifted to their signature player while trying to fill a brand new privately financed stadium. Kraft had a plan and Drew was the centerpiece of that plan.

Would Arthur Blank have allowed his coach to go with the 6th round no name, and then trade off the bankable star in the offseason?
IMO...... not a chance....and that is why Blank should be looking more in the mirror at himself regarding his team’s implosion.

First thought was it'd be no surprise if the door is open for Dimitroff to take a consultant job similar to what Lombardi had a few years ago.

Comes down to how they think it'd affect the relationship with Casserio.

Caserio is still flirting with Houston. If that’s the case, he can go ahead and **** right off. He’s been highly overrated anyway.
