Many of us wondered why this guy seemed to disappear last season, maybe his knee had something to do with his lack of success here??...

Often hear criticism that he did not fight tacklers or be more aggressive on the field, perhaps this is the reason why he did not adapt well to our offensive juggernaut..

Hope he recovers for these injuries and able to enjoy his three daughters..

Updates on Free-Agent TE Scott Chandler's Recovery from Knee Surgery

Hope he recovers for these injuries and able to enjoy his three daughters.
Heh, about 10 years from now he'll look back on that painful knee injury with fond memories.

Fascinating salary cap tidbit related to this.
In 2016 there is a new Injury Protection payment for players who are unable to play and released due to injury. See this article in the Globe:
Boston Globe said:
Anyone who qualifies for injury protection can receive 50 percent of the base salary he was owed in the coming year, up to $1.1 million this year (the limit increases by $50,000 every two years).

So while Chandler’s $2 million in salary wasn’t guaranteed for injury, he is eligible to receive up to $1 million of it in the form of injury protection.

Starting in 2016, injury protection counts against a team’s salary cap. Chandler already counts $1 million against the Patriots’ 2016 salary cap due to the proration of his signing bonus, and if he receives $1 million in injury protection, his cap number will be $2 million.

According to this, that is another $1mm in 2016 salary cap charges for Chandler's injury.
