Kraft was forced to drink his own poison?

Said it on NFLN, 98.5, etc. ... Reason for Kraft not to fight team penalties: He was always 1st to get clubs to back down to Goodell in past
If that was the case, then all Kraft should have to to is pull his support and Goodell's regime should topple quickly. Unless the billionaires are being petty and just want the opposite of what Kraft wants (which can be worked against them too if you're smart enough).

Most of these "old" guys might live to see the end of football the way they are allowing it to be run. Too bad their cognitive function or just plain lack of perspective doesn't allow them to grasp this.

there's still time to fix it, but it has to start with moving in the right direction with the players.

Once again, putting the good of the other 31 ahead of the good of his team. It seems all of his power brokering has done nothing but alienate him from the other owners, most of whom seem to be delighted he's getting some of his own medicine. His never ending support of Goodell has led the league office to treat him like a doormat, all the while alienating a large percentage of his teams fanbase. Well played Jack Ass.

The other 31 have seem to be united in their support of Goodell when he's going against Kraft.

Beyond that, Brady's not the only "injured party".

We all are. We're the ones that have to potentially suffer, because there's not a 10-year veteran on the team in 2025, who is important to the team's success. That's what losing a first-round pick generally means.

Long after Brady and Belichick are gone.

That's something we, the coaches, the staff and the players have to deal with at THAT time.

All because Kraft wants the other owners to like him, which they never will, because no matter how hard he tries, he'll always be an outsider in that "club".

Strong words that summarize a lot of our feelings.
Isn't Jeff Pash also Bob Kraft's lawyer? During the labor negotiations, he was the face in front of the TV cameras, describing how tirelessly he and owners were working to reaching a deal with the NFLPA.
NOW, Bob Kraft is rebuking him through the media because he does not have the courage to call out his fellow owners for trying to railroad the face of his franchise who helped make The Brand what it is today. The same group of owners that tried to rip out the collective hearts of a region that has supported this team for so long.
Only cowards hide behind their attorney. And in this case, only a coward is targeting the "other" attorney (who happens to be his own counsel).

For some crazy reason Kraft put a lot of trust in Goodell. His plan back fired on him twice and for all we know could happen a third time. Like the saying goes, fool me once, (Spygate) shame on you, fool me twice, (capitulating and not fighting the team penalties) shame on me. Kraft should have learned through spygate, bountygate etc that Goodell would not negotiate in good faith. I appreciate all of the good things he has done to build a model franchise, but will also remember the lack of fight when the organization and Brady needed it most.

What a pathetic owner Kraft is. Belichick deserves better.

Maybe that is a part of the resentment the Pats get from other teams.

Maybe they don't think Kraft deserves having BB and TFB.

No those are just losers, habituated to the perverse NFL system of creating parity by punishing winners.

The problem is Bob doesn't think he was "fooled" by spygate. He's dumped all that on BB, and I haven't heard him change that tune.

It's a shame Rog didn't just fine the Patriots 100M. That would actually hurt the one schmuck who shares some blame with the NFL for this debacle and leave everyone else out of it.

I guess some people are new. for the record, nobody wanted the team in 1960 for any sum, especially without a stadium or the possibility Mass politicians would lift a finger to help build one.

Sullivan kept the team going with no stadium,. then a craphole wreck of a stadium when he was forced to find one or sell by the league.

Victor Kiam, Orthwein, assorted shady characters like Murray with the team.

No one that's followed the team a long time thinks that building a stadium was a prudent business move.

Yeah, just lucked into the team, not a fan, hates the team.
And, don't forget, cheap!

What makes you think they would have abandoned GB? It's one of the most popular teams in the NFL, its popularity is not confined to the city. I don't see any reason to believe the team would be more profitable elsewhere. And they're not the only team in a smaller city, or with a stadium that wasn't tax funded.

There would be no team in Green Bay for the same reason there's no team in Decatur, Providence, or Dayton anymore even though all of them had teams at one point. Keep in mind the Packers ownership scheme is a century old.

The actual benefit of the Packers being run as a nonprofit are fairly minimal since they're only one ownership scheme of 32 teams, but the league would unquestionably be run differently if they were not.

For what it's worth, most of the undiluted voting shares are owned by longtime residents of Green Bay and are passed down through families (that stock still doesn't give you a title on future profits, though). So yeah, even though buying a share in 2014 didn't entitle you to anything but essentially 1/10000th of a vote, it's still held by public shareholders.

I get sick to my stomach whenever I think of Kraft coming to the podium in May and accepting the lost of a 1st round draft pick. Sick to my stomach!!!

Please Will Smith, erase my memory now!!!!

Thank you Bob for putting the League ahead of your team and fans. It sure has worked out well.

Kraft should fight and use Goody's word against him. If he sees it as the same as a PED violation why don't team lose picks for PED violations? Not to mention Wells report found the Patriots organization and Belichick innocent of wrong doing. So where is the basis?
