WOW
Good thing the Pats were able to keep him, keep searching for a GM Colts!
I missed the report. I assume that he did not interview because he doesn't want to or he wanted to be respectful of the NEPs playoff run? My assumption is they can offer him a GM title and he'd be free to walk if he wanted to.
I think (If I understood Schefter correctly) the Pats convinced him to stay and ownership may have done something to his contract to help.
Shefter just tweeted it. I would have been very disappointed. I like Casserio a lot, I hope he has the title and income to stay long term and can pick the next coach when the sad day that Belichick retires arrives.

First candidate the Colts tried to hire for vacant GM job was New England's director of player personnel Nick Caserio. Opted to remain in NE
Don't think Bill Belichick minds when staff leaves (e.g. praise for Bill O'Brien), but certain spots (Jets, Colts) alter the outlook a bit.
I wonder if they gave him the VP of PP title. Floyd is still an "advisor"
Although he is a total ****, I would trade Caserio for Polian.
BB, Reese & Polian would be quite the brain trust.

The Polian of 10 years ago, sure, but not the one of today. Look at his recent drafts. He lost his fastball a long time ago, but not his arrogance.
well Bob Kraft v. Irsay
pick your boss
I know a lot of you would pick Irsay because you would get to smoke pot and **** around, but we are talking about real professional business environment that takes chit very serious.
It is probably the reason they don't have fall off the cliff seasons as well
Caserio is smart. The Colts' GM position is not a great position. The guy who takes that job is going to be the guy who cuts Peyton Manning and his whole tenure will ride on whether Andrew Luck lives up to his hype or not.
Polian has devastated that team. I know the popular saying this season was "the Colts are too talented to be this bad", but are they? Taking out the QB position, I see they are a o-line, d-line other than on DE (Mathis is gone), RB, LB corp (Angerer is good, but overrated because of his stats), and secondary (other than Bullit) away from being a Super Bowl contender. They have a lot of names, but not a lot of talent. They will likely lose Mathis, Wayne, and Saturday this offseason. The new GM has to rebuild this team from top to bottom.
Caserio will get his opportunities either here or somewhere else if he wants, but the Colts' job is a dog job unless Luck becomes the next Peyton Manning. Anything less and the new GM could be known as the guy who cut Manning.
