Kraft's behavior during Spygate, Deflategate, and in so many instances (including this one) shows that he wilts easily when it comes to media pressure. He is 100% concerned with the overall impression people have of him and the Patriots.
Kraft wants to win. We haven't been winning or inspiring optimism that winning is coming. Is the media why Gillette was so empty?

These are my thoughts.

QB, WR, go! But without the guy who makes players like Jennings and Peppers shine, it could easily fall apart.

3 of the other 31 teams have won a Super Bowl since BB last won one.

Define “much better.”
I mean, if we somehow land Caleb Williams and he turns into another Mahomes, I will certainly be glad to see AFC CGs and the like.

We can do it! It's possible.

Otherwise, it's not likely. Everyone else is trying it. What's the force factor that takes us over the top now?

Oh my, my entire Patriot fandom is destroyed because I didn't include Orthwein!

It is such a shame.

Do you work for the Krafts?

Ice up son.

Everyone wants to win. Belichick wants to win.

It doesn't matter if you're inspiring the media or the fans or anyone else. What matters is this: are you doing the things that will help you win?

You have to ignore the noise, ignore the fans (who, judging by this board, are highly susceptible to a special New England form of media hatred), and just do the things that lead to eventual winning. You have to have that vision and commit to it.

Let's face it: the influencers in New England hate Belichick for his treatment of the media, and despite 9 Super Bowls and 6 Super Bowl wins, they have never forgiven him for it. This should be obvious -- and their absolute glee at his downfall is more than enough evidence of that. When the national media is taking a more measured approach, that tells you everything.

If Belichick was going to be 52 or 62 next year, I might agree with you. But Belichick is going to be 72. If Belichick didn't leave the Patriots today, he would be leaving the Pats two years from now when he gets Shula's record. You just don't rebuild a team around a short term head coach. And Belichick's recent history as a head coach and GM doesn't show he is a guy who can rebuild a team.
We were in the process of a rebuild. It doesn't start now. The team is full of young players brought up in Belichick's scheme

Simple fact. Any other coach would have been fired after the Patricia fiasco last year. Any other coach would have been fired in season this year.

If anything Kraft has been too hesitant to fire Belichick.

If the Herald's reports from last week and last year this time are true, it was time to move on from Bill.

Like I said, the Krafts are clueless and are completely unaware of what they had, and what they lost.

Good luck. You have to convince McDaniels not to follow Belichick. Get used to it, because it’s going to happen with free agents too.
?

I don't think free agents were lining up around the block for the chance to be coached by BB. As with all else, it's about the money

Ahh this thread is amazing

You are making the argument for firing Belichick. This team is devoid of talent on the offense. And it doesn't have a heck of a lot of young talent on the defense. You have a small handful of young player to build around on defense. That is it. Even many of the guys who performed this year like Peppers will be gone in 2-3 years when this team competes again.

And in the last two years, the team has been heading in the wrong direction.

The Pats are starting a new rebuild this offseason. They hit rock bottom this year and now they dig themselves out this hole. That would be the same with or without Belichick.

Goodbye New England fans, I'm out as a fan, heck I'm out as a football NFL fan with the whole NFL going dumb and woke pushing unbiblical ideas with their sodomite dancers, end racism myths, fake prosperity, virtue signalling, was a fun ride, I was just here cuz I respected the coach, 9 superbowls in 20 years and you let him go cuz you bended to the woke mob that hates BB.......sayonara have fun with the sodomites in woke Massashitets

Sir, this is a Wendy's....

That is your opinion. That isn't fact.

I am sure Kraft knows more about how to build a team better than us. He isn't one of those crappy owners who either absentee and only looking for the team to make them richer than they already are or just do stupid things to make big splashes. He is one of the better owners in the league.

If this is performance art I give it a 10/10.

If it's not please get back on your meds.

Then that will rule out Dallas, or do people think Jerry Jones will allow BB to run personnel?

I honestly don’t know. It could be that he would be willing to do it elsewhere, but not in New England, while I don’t believe the Patriots need a total rebuild, they clearly need to fix the offense, and he probably wants to control that. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have the talent they need across the board, but could use a HC to get them a Super Bowl, and since that could get him both another ring, and the Wins record, he might be willing to step into just a HC role there. I don’t see him getting total control again, and it’s hard to see him expecting that, especially given the comments he made to Pioli years ago that “ you only get to do a total rebuild twice in your career, and he has had his two in Cleveland and New England. Either way it will be interesting to see how this all works out.
