I predict the Indy game will be a Sunday in November. In fact, I predict:

Thursday, November 4 - at Seattle
Monday, November 8 - New York Jets (in London)
Friday, November 12 - at University of Hawaii
Sunday, November 14 - Indianapolis

Had me there for a moment

That's my point. The NFL doesn't give a crap about the fans who attend the games. That's all well and good because they know what side their bread is buttered on... but then Roger Goodell gets up and wonders what he can do to improve the fan experience at games.

the nfl gives a crap about them to the extent that it wants to be sure that there are enough to fill stadiums on gameday and create the environment of an energized crowd as part of the TV package (if you have 5.1 sound, you'll notice that the channels that come through on the rear speakers are devoted entirely to ambient crowd noise--real enough that i've turned around to see what was happening a few times). for most teams, that isn't a problem; even if there aren't enough season ticket holders, the NFL is enough of a draw that there are enough one-timers to fill seats.

but they do have a problem because the experience at the game in person is (visually) way inferior to the experience on a big screen HD TV with surround sound, so they do whatever they can to make being there worthwhile; jerry jones tried to compensate for this with a mega screen HD experience over the field.

by contrast, to me at least, field level seats in the first twenty or so rows between home and first and third base at an MLB game are still the best way to watch a baseball game, though prohibitively expensive in many parks now. you're close enough to discern the pitches and hear the players if things quiet down.
